31. Inflammation in Cancellous and Cortical Bone Healing
Sammanfattning : Fractures in humans most commonly occur near the joints, in the metaphyseal bone area mainly consisting of cancellous bone. Despite this, mainly cortical fractures, located in the diaphyseal bone area, have been studied in experimental models of bone healing. LÄS MER
32. Biochemical and immunological characterization of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor from Torpedo marmorata electric organ
Sammanfattning : Neuronal information transfer in vertebrate skeletal muscle and in the electric organ of e.g. Torpedo is mediated by acetylcholine (ACh). The nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) complex translates the binding of ACh into permeability changes. LÄS MER
33. Pharmacological manipulation of fracture healing and bone remodeling
Sammanfattning : Drug treatment has been and will continue to be a successful method in modern medicine that can change the course of a disease. However, it is surprisingly seldom used in the more technically oriented orthopedic surgery. LÄS MER
34. Kulturkontakter i Sydskandinavien under mesolitikum : Hantverkstraditioner, råmaterialval och mobilitet för 9000 år sedan, med utgångspunkt från Norje Sunnansund i Blekinge
Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to investigate different scales of mobility and social networks in Southern Scandinavia around 7000 BC. An essential basis for this work is the hypothesis that the conical core pressure blade technology, a specific method for producing lithic blades, reached Scandinavia from the east. LÄS MER
35. Our Bones, who art contaminated : Glues, strontium isotopes, and mobility in early Swedish Christians
Sammanfattning : This thesis aims to build upon previous research into contamination and its effects on isotopes by focusing on the strontium isotopic ratio (87Sr/86Sr), which is used in mobility studies to study the movements of past humans and animals and to build past economic trading networks. Contamination is a broad topic, and in the scope of this thesis, it concerns the introduction of contaminants from the soil after interment and the post-excavation preservation efforts. LÄS MER
