  1. 1. Food Web Ecology -- individual life-histories and ecological processes shape complex communities

    Författare :Martin Hartvig; Evolutionär ekologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; food web; community ecology; community assembly; size-structure; life-history omnivory; ontogeny; trophic interactions; trait based model; topology; emergent organisation; size-spectrum;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis sets out a food web framework for size-structured populations. The framework enables an ecological approach to food web modelling as the individual life-history from birth, through maturation, and ultimately death is explicitly resolved with the use of bioenergetics based on individual body size. 2. 2. Aerosol Exchange between Forests and the Atmosphere : Fluxes over a Tropical and a Boreal Forest

    Författare :Lars Ahlm; Douglas Nilsson; David Fowler; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : The main goal of this thesis was to investigate primary biogenic aerosol emission from the Amazon rain forest through measurements of vertical turbulent aerosol number fluxes. In addition, the particle dry deposition sink has been analysed and quantified, and is also compared with the dry deposition sink at a boreal forest site. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The drumlin problem : streamlined subglacial bedforms in southern Sweden

    Författare :Tom Dowling; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; glacial flow; drumlin; self organising maps; LiDAR;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates stream-lined subglacial bedforms (often referred to as drumlins) in southern Sweden. The broad aim of this is to contribute to the solution of the ‘drumlin problem’. The term drumlin has come to be applied to a wide range of features whose internal architecture (core) and overall morphology are seen to vary greatly. LÄS MER
