16. Phase Transitions and Phase Formation of Hydrogen in Quasi-2D Lattices
Sammanfattning : The role of the dimensionality and strain state of metallic lattices on the phase behavior of dissolved hydrogen was explored. Metallic superlattices with well defined hydrogen absorption potential on the nm scale, were utilized as test systems. LÄS MER
17. Dopamine D2 receptor pharmacology : in vitro analyses and in vivo pet imaging
Sammanfattning : The goals of the present thesis were to study high affinity agonist binding at the D2 dopamine receptor and to explore the role of agonist induced internalization of the receptor in positron emission tomography (PET) imaging studies. For this purpose, we combined in vitro studies of radioligand binding and receptor internalization with in vivo studies in rodents using PET. LÄS MER
18. A New Look into Protein C Inhibitor : Posttranslational Modifications and their Functions
Sammanfattning : The influences of posttranslational modifications on the functions of the versatile serpin protein C inhibitor (PCI) were studied. PCI is a serine protease inhibitor that is expressed in many tissues and secreted to various fluids in human, including blood plasma, seminal plasma, and urine. LÄS MER
19. Nuclear Magnetic Relaxation Dispersion and Pulsed-Gradient Spin Echo Studies of Biomolecular Solutions and Amphiphilic Liquid Crystals
Sammanfattning : Biomolecular solutions and amphiphilic liquid crystals are studied by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Dispersion (NMRD) and Pulsed-Gradient Spin Echo (PGSE) respectively. A random-flight simulation is performed to obtain the obstructing factors for self-diffusion of small molecules in macrofluids. LÄS MER
20. Adsorption of Molecules on Metal Surfaces Studied by High Resolution Core Level Photoemission
Sammanfattning : Various aspects of the adsorption of molecules on metal surfaces have been studied making use of different properties of high resolution core level photoemission. A thorough investigation has been performed of the ordering and the site occupancy of CO overlayers on Rh(111). CO has been shown to adsorb in on-top and three-fold-hollow sites. LÄS MER
