21. Wrist ligaments : innervation patterns and ligamento-muscular reflexes
Sammanfattning : Objectives: The principal role of wrist stability is to facilitate the dexterous hand in a multitude of functions. To achieve joint stability, in general, a fine interaction of both static and dynamic elements is of essence. LÄS MER
22. Enzymatic conversion of β-mannans through transglycosylation and hydrolysis : Synthesis of building blocks for novel biomaterials from renewables
Sammanfattning : The major softwood hemicellulose is galactoglucomannan (GGM), an abundant polysaccharide which constitutes up to 25% of the dry weight of wood, much of which is discarded in current refinery practices. Among the enzymes responsible for the degradation of this hemicellulose are the β-mannanases. LÄS MER
23. Serotonergic aporphine derivatives : Synthesis and structure-activity relationships
Sammanfattning : Novel series of well-characterized and stereochemically pure 11-substituted (R)-aporphine derivatives have been prepared and their interaction with serotonin 5-HT7 and 5-HT1A receptors and dopamine D2A and D1 receptors have been studied. Efficient palladium catalyzed reactions were utilized for the diastereoselective synthesis of atropisomers as well as for the synthesis of several of the other (R)-aporphine derivatives. LÄS MER
24. Interactions with pain-related systems - Towards new electrical treatments for chronic pain
Sammanfattning : Background. Persistent intolerable pain is still an unsolved issue with a huge socioeconomic impact. To develop appropriate treatments, it is crucial to understand the complex mechanisms underlying pain and how they change during sustained pain stimuli or during pathological conditions. LÄS MER
25. Reducing Alkali Chloride-Induced High Temperature Corrosion by Sulphur Containing Additives – A Combined Laboratory and Field Study
Sammanfattning : In order to achieve a more sustainable society renewable fuels such as biomass and waste are attractive alternatives to fossil fuels for power production. However, fireside corrosion is a serious concern in boilers combusting biomass or waste. The high corrosion rates are often linked to large amounts of alkali chlorides in the flue gas. LÄS MER
