Sammanfattning : All manufacturing processes are afflicted by variation, which leads to products that may not fulfill assembly, functional or esthetical requirements. The variation in the final product originates from variation in individual parts and assembly processes. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : There has recently been a renewed interest in planning for pedestrian traffic, primarily in connection to public transport interchange stations, since these are important for public transport to constitute an attractive alternative to car usage. This thesis concerns microscopic simulation of pedestrian traffic, which is a promising tool for analyzing and predicting the traffic situation in a given pedestrian facility; particularly powerful when the traffic is congested. Sammanfattning : Operation of a district heating system is accomplished via a sequence of decisions by the operators controlling the system. These decisions are based on expectations of conditions in the system that are not known at decision time. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : Economic systems are often subject to structural variability. For the achievement of correct structural specification in econometric modelling it is then important to allow for parameters that are time-varying, and to apply estimation techniques suitably designed for inference in such models. Sammanfattning : Cavitation is a vaporisation process that commonly happens in high pressure injectornozzles nowadays. It has been shown by previous studies that cavitationhas a significant influence on the subsequent atomization process, the qualityof which would in turn heavily affect the quality of combustion.
