  1. 1. Anterior shoulder dislocation : Aspects of alternative methods of treatment and MR imaging

    Författare :Göran Wintzell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; Shoulder; traumatic primary dislocation; arthroscopic lavage; non-operative regime; Indirect MR arthrography; apprehension position; ABER position; Bankart operation; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; Orthopaedics; ortopedi;

    Sammanfattning : Sixty patients (16-30 years) with traumatic primary anterior shoulder dislocation were allocated to arthroscopic lavage or non-operative treatment. The arthroscopic lavage group had a lower recurrence rate, better functional outcome and anterior stability after one year. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Soft Tissue Aspects of the Shoulder Joint

    Författare :Shwan Khoschnau; Hans Rahme; Karl Michaelsson; Lars Adolfsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; cruciate ligament; shoulder dislocation; polymorphism; collagen; biomechanical properties; rotator cuff tear; shoulder ultrasound; adhesive capsulitis; MRI;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to study different aspects of the soft tissues of the shoulder joint. The variation in the quality of the tendons and ligaments can be explained by genetic factors. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Arthroscopic Bankart reconstruction using different absorbable tacks. The clinical results, radiographic findings and effect on calcaneal bone mineral

    Författare :Anna Elmlund; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; shoulder dislocation; arthroscopic; dislocation arthropathy; BMA;

    Sammanfattning : ABSTRACT The aim of the thesis was to explore the clinical and radiographic results after post- traumatic anterior shoulder instability treated with arthroscopic Bankart surgery using absorbable tacks with different compositions. Further aims were to explore possible effects on bone mineral in the heel bone and health-related quality of life after a shoulder-stabilising surgical procedure. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Studies on Fantasmical Anatomies is an ongoing transdisciplinary artistic research, which encompasses the spectrum of experiences and practices that I have developed as a choreographer, dancer and Feldenkrais practitioner. My interest in anatomy and somatic practices grew out of multiple shoulder dislocations. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Shoulder instability : a clinical and MRI-based analysis

    Författare :Björn Salomonsson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Shoulder instability; Shoulder instability classification; Shoulder arthroscopy; MRI; MR-arthography; Shoulder instability surgery; Shoulder instability assessment; Outcome instruments;

    Sammanfattning : Shoulder instability is a common but complex and challenging area of shoulder pathology, and new diagnostic methods and treatments are continuously developed. We conducted this study to evaluate the clinical outcome of shoulder instability with respect to different diagnostic possibilities and surgical treatments. LÄS MER
