  1. 1. Large eddy simulation of transonic flow with shock wave/turbulent boundary layer interaction

    Författare :Christian Wollblad; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; shock wave; turbulent boundary layer; LES;

    Sammanfattning : Large eddy simulations (LES) of shock wave/turbulent boundary layer interaction (SWTBLI) have been carried out. The flow configuration was that of transonic flow over a bump with inlet Mach number 0.75 and maximum Mach number 1.27. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Supersonic flow separation with application to rocket engine nozzles

    Författare :Jan Östlund; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :turbulent; boundary layer; shock wave; interaction; overexpanded; rocket nozzle; flow separation; control; side-load; experiments; models; review;

    Sammanfattning : The increasing demand for higher performance in rocketlaunchers promotes the development of nozzles with higherperformance, which basically is achieved by increasing theexpansion ratio. However, this may lead to flow separation andensuing instationary, asymmetric forces, so-called side-loads,which may present life-limiting constraints on both the nozzleitself and other engine components. 3. 3. Flow Processes in Rocket Engine Nozzles with Focus on Flow Separation and Side-Loads

    Författare :Jan Östlund; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :turbulent; boundary layer; shock wave; interaction; intermittent; overexpanded; rocket nozzle; flow separation; side-load; models; criteria; prediction; review;

    Sammanfattning : .... LÄS MER

  4. 4. Hot wire and PIV studies of transonic turbulent wall-bounded flows

    Författare :Timmy Sigfrids; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :fluid mechanics; compressible flow; turbulence; boundary layer; hot-wire anemometry; PIV; shock wave boundary layer interaction; shape factor;

    Sammanfattning : The compressible turbulent boundary layer developing over atwo-dimensional bump which leads to a supersonic pocket with aterminating shock wave has been studied. The measurements havebeen made with hot-wire anemometry and Particle ImageVelocimetry (PIV). LÄS MER

  5. 5. Contribution to Numerical and Experimental Studies of Flutter in Space Turbines. Aerodynamic Analysis of Subsonic or Supersonic Flows in Response to a Prescribed Vibratory Mode of the Structure

    Författare :Hakim Ferria; Pascal Ferrand; Torsten Fransson; François Moyroud; France Ecole Centrale de Lyon Laboratoire de Mécanique des Fluides et d'Acoustique; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; flutter; space turbine; LRANS computation; flutter measurement; shock wave boundary layer interaction; blisk; cut-on cut-off condition; interblade phase angle; combined modes;

    Sammanfattning : Modern turbomachines are designed towards thinner, lighter and highly loaded blades. This gives rise to increased sensitivity to flow induced vibrations such as flutter, which leads to structure failure in a short period of time if not sufficiently damped. LÄS MER
