Sammanfattning : Extreme climatic events, such as droughts, can have large effects on biodiversity. Drought effects in forest understories are variable over small spatial scales and can be exacerbated, or buffered, by the local vegetation structure, distance to forest edges, hydrology, and soil characteristics.
