  1. 1. Geometry linking the art of building and the Universe: Geometric patterns on shells and grid shells

    Författare :Emil Adiels; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Form finding; Differential Geometry; Conceptual design; Geometry; Shell; Engineering; Masonry; Craftsmanship; Grid shell; Architecture; Structural design;

    Sammanfattning : Geometry links the art of building and the physics of space-time. Mathematical breakthroughs in geometry have led to new ways of designing our structures and our ability to visualise and describe the world, phenomena in nature and the universe. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Ceramic Core–Shell Particles : Synthesis and Use within Dentistry

    Författare :Camilla Berg; Wei Xia; Håkan Engqvist; Nicola Döbelin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Calcium phosphate; Core-shell particles; Substituting ions; Dentin hypersensitivity; Occlusion; Mineralization; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot materialvetenskap; Engineering Science with specialization in Materials Science;

    Sammanfattning : Dentin hypersensitivity is one of the most prevalent conditions related to oral health, affecting a large share of the adult population. Shortcomings with the available treatment options are related to non-ideal particle sizes and degradation properties. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Molluscs, Environment and Man - A Bioarchaeological Approach in Sweden

    Författare :Birgitta M. Johansson; Birgit Arrhenius; Urve Miller; David S. Reese; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; molluscs; role of shells; shell use; bioarchaeology; subfossil shells; environmental indicator; molluscs as food; personal ornaments; ethnography; Björkö-Birka.; Archaeology subjects; Arkeologiämnen;

    Sammanfattning : The thesis aims to examine the role and use of molluscs in Swedish prehistory, in chorological and chronological aspects. Molluscs live in the sea, fresh water and on land. The Swedish mollusc fauna contains 623 taxa: 417 marine, 85 limnic and 121 terrestrial species. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Strain and Charge Transport in InAsP-InP and InP-InAs Core-Shell Nanowires

    Författare :David Göransson; NanoLund: Centre for Nanoscience; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Nanowire; InAsP-InP core-shell nanowire; InP-InAs core-shell nanowire; strain; XRD; charge transport; Coulomb blockade; Josephson junction; Fysicumarkivet A:2019:Göransson;

    Sammanfattning : The mechanical, optical, and electrical properties of III-V semiconductor heterostructures are investigated in thisthesis. The semiconductor materials are grown by metal-organic vapor phase epitaxy, yielding wire shaped crystals(nanowires) having a length of ~ 1 μm and diameter of ~ 100 nm. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Mixture Effects in Shell-and-Tube Condensers. Theory and Calculations

    Författare :Tord Karlsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; shell-and-tube; heat transfer; zeotropic; condensation; mass transfer; mixture;

    Sammanfattning : Zeotropic mixtures have come into more frequent use as working fluids (refrigerants) in heat pumps and air conditioning equipment due to the phase-out of ozone-depleting substances. Substantial drop in performance for shell-side condensation in shell-and-tube condensers when replacing a pure fluid with a mixture has been reported in the literature. LÄS MER
