  1. 1. Nonlinear Numerical Simulations of Interactions Between Ice Rubble and Structure

    Författare :Aniket Patil; Andrzej Cwirzen; Björnar Sand; Lennart Fransson; Knut Vilhelm Høyland; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ice mechanics; ice rubble; sea ice ridges; punch through test; shear box test; friction coefficient; cohesive element method; smoothed particle hydrodynamics; continuous surface cap model; numerical modelling; Byggkonstruktion; Structural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : This research is focused on three distinct but interconnecting topics:1) investigation of physical and mechanical properties of ice rubble, 2) material modelling of ice rubble, 3) numerical simulation of the interaction between ice rubble structure interaction. large scatter in the values of physical and mechanical properties of ice rubble can be seen in the literature due to non-standardised methods. 2. 2. Basic Testing and Strength Design of Corrugated Board and Containers

    Författare :Tomas Nordstrand; Byggnadsmekanik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Material technology; Materiallära; materialteknik; Produktteknik allmän ; Technology of other products; corrugation; compression; collapse; buckling; bending; box;

    Sammanfattning : Packaging serves a lot of purposes, and would be hard to do without. Packaging protects the goods during transport, saves costs, informs about the product, and extends its durability. A transport package is required to be strong and lightweight in order to be cost effective. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Mechanical and Hydromechanical Behaviour of Hard Rock Joints. A laboratory study

    Författare :Roger Olsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; laboratory shear tests; constant normal stiffness; rock mechanics; hydromechanical behaivour; rock joints; replicas;

    Sammanfattning : As a consequence of rock engineering works, the rock mass will deform due to stress changes. Most deformation occurs in the rock joints, in form of normal and shear strains. These deformations will also change the void geometry and thereby the joint aperture and fluid flow. LÄS MER

  4. 4. A Ventilation Strategy Based on Confluent Jets : An Experimental and Numerical Study

    Författare :Setareh Janbakhsh; Bahram Moshfegh; Alexander Zhivov; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Multiple interacting jets; round jets; confluent jets; wall jet; ventilation strategy; air distribution system; air supply device; ventilation performance; thermal comfort; energy-saving potential; measurement; numerical predictions; RANS turbulence models; renormalization group RNG k– ε ; realizable Re k– ε ; and shear stress transport SST k– ω ;

    Sammanfattning : This study presents air distribution systems that are based on confluent jets; this system can be of interest for the establishment of indoor environments, to fulfill the goals of indoor climate and energy-efficient usage. The main objective of this study is to provide deeper understanding of the flow field development of a supply device that is designed based on wall confluent jets and to investigate the ventilation performance by experimental and numerical methods. 5. 5. On some Fatigue Problems Related to Steel Bridges

    Författare :Roberto Crocetti; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; modular bridge expansion joints; full-scale testing; web breathing; postbuckling behaviour; fatigue; riveted connections;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis concerns three specific fatigue topics related to steel members in bridges, namely: (1) Modular Bridge Expansion Joints (MBEJs). Several premature fatigue failures of MBEJs have occurred in Europe and USA during the past decades. LÄS MER
