  1. 1. Sentinel Node in Clinical Practice Implications for Breast Cancer Treatment and Prognosis

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Yvette Andersson; Uppsala universitet.; [2012]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; breast cancer; sentinel node; micrometastases; survival; non-sentinel node metastases;

    Sammanfattning : The introduction of sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) has conveyed several new issues, such as the risk of false negativity, long-term consequences, the prognostic significance of micrometastases and whether ALND can be omitted in sentinel lymph node- (SLN) positive patients.Archived SLN specimens from 50 false negative patients and 107 true negative controls were serially sectioned and stained with immunohistochemistry. 2. 2. Sentinel Node Biopsy for Breast Cancer Aspects and evolution

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Andreas Karakatsanis; Uppsala universitet.; [2018]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Breast Cancer; Sentinel Node Biopsy; Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide;

    Sammanfattning : Sentinel Node Biopsy (SNB) in clinical practice was pivotal to the shaping of modern diagnosis, staging and treatment of patients with breast cancer. The use of radioisotope (RI) and blue dye (BD) has led to high detection rates with low false negatives, but delivery-of-care limitations connected to these tracers as well as the need for methods addressing new clinical conundrums delineates the urge for new tracers with comparable performance, easier logistics and, ideally expanded implementations. 3. 3. Detecting prostate cancer metastases - PET/CT and the sentinel node technique

    Detta är en avhandling från Division of Urological Cancers

    Författare :Henrik Kjölhede; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2014]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Prostate cancer; Metastases; PET CT; Choline; Fluoride; Sentinel lymph nodes;

    Sammanfattning : Prostate cancer is one of the most common malignancies. Its treatment is highly dependent on the presence or absence of metastases. The available invasive and non-invasive modalities for detecting metastases are imperfect. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Predictors of Lymph Node Metastasis in Primary Breast Cancer - Risk Models for Tailored Axillary Management

    Detta är en avhandling från Lund University: Faculty of Medicine

    Författare :Looket Dihge; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2018]
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Breast Cancer; Axillary lymph node dissection; Sentinel lymph node biopsy; Ultrasonography; Nomogram; Artificial neural network; Gene Expression; Prediction model;

    Sammanfattning : Most patients with breast cancer present with low-risk tumors, node-negative disease, and excellent prognosis. For these patients, routine axillary nodal staging by sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) has no therapeutic benefit. For patients with limited sentinel lymph node metastasis, completion axillary nodal dissection is controversial. LÄS MER

  5. 5. On CD4+ T Lymphocytes in Solid Tumours

    Detta är en avhandling från Uppsala : Acta Universitatis Upsaliensis

    Författare :Per Marits; Uppsala universitet.; [2007]
    Nyckelord :Molecular medicine; Tumour immunology; T lymphocytes; sentinel node detection; colon cancer; urinary bladder cancer; adoptive immunotherapy; Molekylärmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with recognition and elimination of tumours by T lymphocytes and their use in adoptive immunotherapy.The first tumour-draining lymph node; the sentinel node, is identified by peritumoural injection of a tracer. This is the hypothesised location for the activation of tumour-reactive lymphocytes. LÄS MER
