21. Fluorimetric Bioprobe Based on DNA-dye Intercalation - Application in Enviromental and Clinical Monitoring
Sammanfattning : Nucleic acids have many unique structural features that offer reliable means of recognizing and monitoring many compounds of medical or environmental importance. In recent years, there has been an enormous increase in the use of nucleic acids as a tool to determine the chemical compounds of environmental and clinical interest and the major research activities in these areas have been directed towards the design of sequence-selective biosensors based on hybridization. 22. Application of proximity Ligation for Detection of Proteins, Biomolecular Interactions, and Single Copies of Pathogens
Sammanfattning : Proximity ligation is a recently established technique that can provide answers to questions about the concentration, localization, interactions, modifications and functions of proteins. The method enables sensitive protein measurements with a detection limit in the low femtomolar range in complex biological samples. LÄS MER
23. Position-sensitive germanium detectors for gamma-ray tracking, imaging and polarimetry
Sammanfattning : Modern germanium detectors are often manufactured with two-dimensionally segmented electrical contacts. Signals induced in each segment are read out simultaneously when a photon is detected. Detailed pulse shape analysis (PSA) of these signals allows to resolve positions of individual γ-ray interactions with a precision of at least a few mm. LÄS MER
24. Faraday modulation spectroscopy : Theoretical description and experimental realization for detection of nitric oxide
Sammanfattning : Faraday modulation spectroscopy (FAMOS) is a laser-based spectroscopic dispersion technique for detection of paramagnetic molecules in gas phase. This thesis presents both a new theoretical description of FAMOS and experimental results from the ultra-violet (UV) as well as the mid-infrared (MIR) regions. LÄS MER
25. Methods for Direct Optimal Control of Multibody Systems
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we present practical tools and techniques to numerically solve optimal control problems involving multibody systems. The driving application for the thesis has been developing motion planning tools for industrial robots and digital humans. LÄS MER
