16. Response of glaciers to climate change : Mass balance sensitivity, sea level rise and runoff
Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study is to enhance our understanding of the response of glaciers to climate change. Global sea level is affected by changes in glacier ice volume, and melt-water from glaciers is a principal water source in many regions. LÄS MER
17. Fabrication, development and characterization of a waveguide microscopy device for biological applications
Sammanfattning : Our understanding of biological systems has advanced significantly thanks to the development of microscopy methods and suitable biological assays. Surface based methods have increasingly gained interest thanks to their superior sensitivity and ease of use. LÄS MER
18. Indirect Searches for Galactic Dark Matter with IceCube-DeepCore and PINGU
Sammanfattning : The cubic-kilometer sized IceCube neutrino observatory is burieddeep in the glacial ice at the Earth’s South Pole. Its low-energyextension array DeepCore enables physicists to search indirectlyfor light Dark Matter (DM) particles with masses as low as tensof GeV/c2 situated within our home galaxy, the Milky Way. 19. Simulating Group Interactions through Machine Learning and Human Perception
Sammanfattning : Human-Robot/Agent Interaction is well researched in many areas, but approaches commonly either focus on dyadic interactions or crowd simulations. However, the intermediate structure between individuals and crowds, i.e., small groups, has been studied less. LÄS MER
20. Tissue transglutaminase autoantibodies in childhood celiac disease
Sammanfattning : Celiac disease is a prevalent small bowel disease in children caused by permanent intolerance against gliadin, which is the alcohol-soluble fraction of the cereal protein gluten in wheat, rye and barley. Celiac disease is characterized by an inflammatory infiltrate of CD4+ T lymphocytes in the intestinal mucosa leading to damage of villous structure and loss of absorptive surface. LÄS MER
