Sammanfattning : Non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) is an umbrella term for non-lethal behaviours that are unlikely to be intended as suicidal, such as cutting, hitting, or burning oneself. The aims of this dissertation were to investigate i) the mental health and well-being of Swedish young adults who have ceased engaging in NSSI since adolescence, and ii) the psychosocial conditions that facilitate NSSI cessation and psychological growth during this period. 4. Perception of touch : Developmental and personality factors in touch avoidance
Sammanfattning : The studies in this doctoral thesis investigated the concept of touch avoidance. Touch avoidance indicates a person’s negative affect toward physical contact/touch. In study 1 the aim was to develop a questionnaire that measures the level of touch avoidance. The results showed that touch avoidance can be measured along five different dimensions. LÄS MER
5. Laparoscopic or Open Antireflux Surgery - A Comparative Study with Special Reference to the Patient´s Perspective
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this thesis was to compare the effects of laparoscopic versus open antireflux surgery in a randomized clinical trial focusing the patients' subjective and objective outcome postoperatively, from a short-term and a long-term perspective. A further aim was to describe GORD patients' experiences of illness and surgical treatment and if possible to find striking characteristics relating to laparoscopic or open surgery. LÄS MER
