1. Multiparametric MRI for evaluation of tumour treatment response : Studies of 177Lu-octreotate therapy of neuroendocrine tumour
Sammanfattning : Clinical assessment of tumour response to treatment largely relies on estimates of tumour size by, e.g., measuring the largest tumour diameters on magnetic resonance (MR) or computed tomography (CT) images, weeks or months after treatment. LÄS MER
2. Solution properties of a hydrophobically modified polymer
Sammanfattning : The influence of hydrophobic modification on solution properties of water-soluble polymers in the semi-dilute regime have been studied. The nonionic ethyl(hydroxyethyl)cellulose (EHEC) and its hydrophobically modified analogue (HM-EHEC) are used as model substances. LÄS MER
3. Decision Support Model for a Sustainable Regional Water Supply
Sammanfattning : Water supply provision has traditionally been a municipal responsibility. However, environmental, social and economic drivers are now making it more attractive to manage the water services in a more aggregated way. LÄS MER
4. Dynamic mechanical allodynia in peripheral neuropathic pain : psychological observations
Sammanfattning : Introduction and aim: Pain due to a light moving mechanical stimulus, dynamic mechanical allodynia, is a protruding symptom/sign in subgroups of patients with peripheral neuropathic pain and frequently as troublesome as spontaneous ongoing pain. The objective of this thesis was to survey psychophysical details of dynamic mechanical allodynia using a novel semi-quantitative method. LÄS MER
5. Development of Gene Therapy for Hematopoietic Stem Cells using Lentiviral Vectors
Sammanfattning : Hematopoietic stem cells are an ideal target for genetic manipulation for the purpose of curing hematological disorders as they have the ability to develop into all blood lineages and to self-renew. In this study we demonstrate that lentiviral vectors, based on HIV-1, can efficiently transfer genes into human hematopoietic progenitor and stem cells as assessed following stem cell transplantation in immune compromised mice.
