    Sammanfattning : This study focuses on one of the groups of royal women in the OT who were considered the spouses of the king: the group of the royal pilagshim, who had a kind of secondary status in the household.Having pilagshim was not a privilege reserved to the kings, but was also practiced by other leaders, like the forefathers and the judges.     Sammanfattning : Aims: The aim of the present study was to explore the reason why women with diabetes lose the female protection against MI, by investigating cardiovascular risk factors, markers of inflammation, early predictors for future development of diabetes and clinical manifestations in diabetes and coronary heart disease.Subjects and methods: Women with (n=29), and without diabetes (DM) (n=64), hospitalised with a smyocardial infarction ( MI) 1994-96, were compared with DM-women without MI (n=46) and healthy controls (n=125).     Sammanfattning : General and reproductive health and reproductive outcome were described in rural women of childbearing age (15-44 years) during 1992-93 in a cross-sectional study in Zimbabwe. Through a two-stage sampling procedure twelve villages were selected at random, and 79% of the women in the villages accepted to participate (n=1213). LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Acute myocardial infarction (AMI), caused by ischaemic heart disease (IHD), is a leading cause of death in both men and women in the western society. Hypertension, diabetes, and smoking are examples of well-known risk factors of IHD, but also there are psychosocial factors, such as stress, vital exhaustion (unusual fatigue, irritability, and demoralization) and depression that have been associated with an increased risk in both genders.     Sammanfattning : Through interviews, many documents and secondary data, this dissertation investigates how fifty-four women activists participated in the public sphere in Egypt from the outbreak of the 2011 uprising to the re-emergence of the authoritarian regime in 2014. The women activists studied in the dissertation took part in various counter-publics of social movements, opposition political parties, and civic engagement. LÄS MER
