21. Decision-Making in Automotive Collision Avoidance Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis is concerned with decision-making in systems that can detect hazardous traffic situations and assist drivers in avoiding collisions by using automatic braking or steering. The aim with these systems is to reduce the number of accidents and their consequences without disturbing the driver with unnecessary interventions during normal traffic conditions. LÄS MER
22. Infrastructure investment planning under uncertainty
Sammanfattning : This dissertation is concerned with the planning processes in transportation and infrastructure investments and the aim is to improve risk assessment, risk valuation and risk management. Many of the results presented in this thesis are also applicable to a wider range of questions... LÄS MER
23. Older car drivers - Needs of vehicle support for safe individual mobility
Sammanfattning : As the demographic is changing with the growth of the population of older citizens, concerns have been raised for this group in terms of mobility as well as traffic safety. In this context the automobile is an important means of transport. LÄS MER
24. Driver interaction with vulnerable road users: Understanding and modelling driver behaviour for the design and evaluation of intelligent safety systems
Sammanfattning : Every year, more than 5000 pedestrians and 2000 cyclists die on European roads. These vulnerable road users (VRU) are at especially high risk when interacting with motorised vehicles. LÄS MER
25. Environmental, health and safety assessment of phase-change solvents for post combustion CO2 capture
Sammanfattning : A novel class of solvents exhibiting liquid-liquid phase separation upon reaction with CO2 and/or change in temperature, promises significant reduction of energy requirement of the post combustion capture by chemical absorption. However, proceeding to a large-scale application of novel materials requires holistic evaluation of the aspects related to human health, safety, and environmental impacts currently missing for phase-change solvent alternatives.
