  1. 6. Development and application of spatial transcriptomics methods

    Författare :Zaneta Andrusivova; Joakim Lundeberg; Jay W. Shin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; RNA; Spatial Transcriptomics; RNA sequencing; Biotechnology; Bioteknologi;

    Sammanfattning : Transcriptomics is one of the pivotal fields in molecular biology, enabling comprehensive analysis of gene expression patterns. Recent advancements in the biotechnology field have transformed the transcriptomics research, providing insights into the complexity of cellular processes in a greater detail. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Testing palaeomagnetic and 14C based geochronological methods in the Baltic Sea

    Författare :Bryan Lougheed; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Baltic Sea; coastal; geochronology; palaeomagnetic secular variation; PSV; radiocarbon; 14C; reservoir age; R t ; ΔR; salinity; δ18O; geomagnetic field; Holocene; deglacial; Fennoscandia.;

    Sammanfattning : The Baltic Sea is a continental shelf sea that is influenced by both river runoff and marine water. The two water masses are vertically stratified in the Baltic Sea, resulting in a positive, estuarine circulation system, which has undergone changes in the past due to isostatic uplift of the Baltic basin. 3. 8. The Ghost Boulevard

    Författare :Bojan Boric; Helena Mattsson; Meike Schalk; Jennifer Mack; Tahl Kaminer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; urban planning; urban design; architecture; antropology; critical historiography; Urban Design; Stadsbyggnad;

    Sammanfattning : In 1947, Soviet architect Alexey Shchusev developed a large-scale urban renewal project for the post-war city of Chisinau, the then-capital of the SSR of Moldova. Part of the master plan was the construction of Boulevard D. Cantemir, which would cut through the city’s historic fabric. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Tree-limit ecotonal response to Holocene climate change in the Scandes Mountains of west-central Sweden

    Författare :Jonas Bergman; Kvartärgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; tree-limit ecotone; alpine vegetation; tephrochronology; peat humification; plant macrofossils; Palaeobotany; fylogeni; Paleobotanik; palynology; phylogeny; palynologi; Geologi; Geology; pedology; geomorphology; Physical geography; klimatologi; geomorfologi; climatology; Fysisk geografi; cartography; Holocene climate; palaeoecology; marklära; kartografi; pollen influx;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this thesis was to reconstruct the Holocene vegetational and climatic development in the Sylarna-Storulvån area, western Jämtland, in the central Scandes Mountains. Temporal trends and fluctuations in the elevation and vegetational character of the tree-limit ecotone were studied mainly by means of pollen and plant macrofossil analysis of two lake sediment sequences (Lakes Stentjärn and Spåime), located above the present-day tree-limit. 5. 10. Performance in the Swedish Building Code : An Inquiry into the Consequences for Architectural Design of the Formulation and Assessment of Performance Requirements

    Författare :Marja Lundgren; Timothy Anstey; Fredrik Nilsson; Meike Schalk; Anne Beim; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Architecture; architectural technology; performance-based regulation; performance requirement; energy performance; daylight metrics; tectonics; architectural representation; repertoire; context-dependent knowledge; Arkitektur; funktionskrav; energiprestanda; dagsljusfaktor; tektonik; repertoar; arkitekturteknik; Arkitektur; Architecture;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates performance-based regulation in Sweden and its consequences for architectural design. In the last 50 years, there has been a transition from prescriptive to performance-based regulation, propelled by the drive to further innovation, productivity and competitiveness by expressing the functions expected of the buildings as performances.
