1. A New Model for Room Acoustic Prediction and Auralization
Sammanfattning : The development of two room acoustic prediction models and auralization methods are described. The first prediction model is a combination of two well known algorithms with some extensions; the image source model and ray-tracing. LÄS MER
2. Acoustic Sound Source Localisation and Tracking : in Indoor Environments
Sammanfattning : With advances in micro-electronic complexity and fabrication, sophisticated algorithms for source localisation and tracking can now be deployed in cost sensitive appliances for both consumer and commercial markets. As a result, such algorithms are becoming ubiquitous elements of contemporary communication, robotics and surveillance systems. LÄS MER
3. Drum sound from floor coverings - objective and subjective assessment
Sammanfattning : Drum sound is the sound produced when an object, such as a foot, hits the flooring in the room in which the receiving ear is located. Drum sound has attracted interest in recent years, particularly due to an increased use of thin floating floor constructions, such as veneer or laminate flooring, which can produce loud and sharp walking sound. 4. Structural-acoustic analysis of wall-to-floor joints in timber-framed housing
Sammanfattning : Even though a building meets the regulations with respect to impact sound, structures with wooden frames may receive complaints from the inhabitants due to structure-borne sound in the lower frequencies. In this thesis measuring methods that are more precise than the traditional measuring methods have been used to see if they could give a better knowledge about flanking transmission in the low frequencies in timber-framed structures. 5. Modelling of Forming and Welding in Alloy 718
Sammanfattning : The reduction of fuel consumption and carbon dioxide emissions are currently a key factor for the aviation industry due to major concerns about climate change and more restrictive environmental laws. One way to reduce both fuel consumption and CO2 emissions is by significantly decreasing the vehicle’s weight while increasing engine's efficiency. LÄS MER
