  1. 6. The Role of Lhx2 During Organogenesis : - Analysis of the Hepatic, Hematopoietic and Olfactory Systems

    Författare :Åsa Kolterud; Leif Carlsson; Stefan Thor; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developmental biology; LIM-homeobox gene; Lhx2; fetal liver; hepatic stellate cells; hematopoietic stem cells; septum transversum; self-renewal; odorant receptor genes; olfactory epithelium; olfactory sensory neuron; Utvecklingsbiologi; Developmental biology; Utvecklingsbiologi; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Sammanfattning : During embryonic development a variety of tissues and organs such as the lung, eye, and kidney are being formed. The generation of functional organs is regulated by reciprocal cell-cell interactions. Via the secretion of soluble molecules one type of cells affect the fate of their neighboring cells. LÄS MER

  2. 7. From alpha to beta ocean: Exploring the role of surface buoyancy fluxes and seawater thermal expansion in setting the upper ocean stratification

    Författare :Romain Caneill; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ocean stratification; Thermal expansion coefficient; Buoyancy fluxes; Transition zone; Alpha – beta ocean;

    Sammanfattning : The ocean plays a central role in the climate system by absorbing excess anthropogenic heat and carbon dioxide. Moreover, the ocean circulation distributes heat from the tropics towards the poles. Due to the large ocean stratification, vertical exchanges between the ocean interior and the surface are limited. 3. 8. Den allvarsamma leken : Om World of Warcraft och läckaget

    Författare :Peder Stenberg; Alf Arvidsson; Billy Ehn; Charlotte Hagström; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; Internet; online role-playing games; World of Warcraft; gender; virtual; bodies; computer; participatory play; game; gamestudies; ethnography; online; community; work; forum; role-playing; identity; fan fiction; user; intellectual property; production; user created content; Ethnology; Etnologi; Ethnology; etnologi;

    Sammanfattning : Through more than five years of extensive, participatory research the writer became a fully integrated member of the World of Warcraft community he set out to study. By actually living the grounded practices that constitute the everyday life he concludes that the mundane, often repetitive practice has very little to do with the cyber-utopian claim that one can flee the body and become who they want on the Internet. 4. 9. Study of molecular mechanism(s) underlying neurodegeneration in SCA7 disease : Role of NOX enzymes and oxidative stress

    Författare :Abiodun Ajayi; Anna-Lena Ström; Boris Zhivotosky; Bengt Mannervik; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; neurodegeneration; polyglutamine; oxidative stress; metabolism; NADPH oxidase; neurokemi med molekylär neurobiologi; Neurochemistry with Molecular Neurobiology;

    Sammanfattning : Spinocerebellar ataxia type 7 (SCA7) is an autosomal dominant neurodegenerative disorder caused by a CAG trinucleotide expansion in the SCA7/ATXN7 gene resulting in progressive ataxia and retinal dystrophy. SCA7 belongs to a group of neurodegenerative disorders called polyglutamine (polyQ) diseases, that share the common feature of glutamine tract expansions within otherwise unrelated proteins. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Molecular mechanism(s) underlying neurodegeneration in SCA7 disease : Role of NOX enzymes and oxidative stress

    Författare :Abiodun Ajayi; Anna-Lena Ström; Ana Cristina Rego; Stockholms universitet; []
