  1. 1. Drip Sealing Grouting of Tunnels in Crystalline Rock: Conceptualisation and Technical Strategies

    Författare :Christian Butron; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; icicle formation; drip sealing; unsaturated flow; rock fracture; dripping.; channels; crystalline rock; design; Grouting; ice growth; evaluation;

    Sammanfattning : A conceptual model of the groundwater hydraulic conditions around the tunnel contour in ancient brittle crystalline rocks has been developed and verified. The general aim has been to reach an understanding of the groundwater conditions in and close to the tunnel roof where dripping takes place and to propose technical and practical strategies for waterproofing. 2. 2. Listening to the story of the rock mass : The integration of conventional and unconventional data to understand rock mass behaviour at the Kiirunavaara Mine

    Författare :Jessica Vatcher; Stephen D McKinnon; Jonny Sjöberg; Dick Stacey; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mining and Rock Engineering; Gruv- och Berganläggningsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The need to understand rock mass behaviour has never been greater; as mining globally progresses deeper to extract the precious resources humankind needs to maintain and forward our lives, we encounter rock behaviours associated with deep mining. These environments typically experience seismicity (including fault slip), rock bursting, strain bursting, spalling, aseismic movement along pre-existing discontinuities, and ground falls. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Structural behaviour of shotcrete in hard rock tunnels

    Författare :Andreas Sjölander; Anders Ansell; Richard Malm; Fredrik Johansson; Eivind Grøv; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; shotcrete; structural behaviour; material models; rock support; bond strength; fibre-reinforcement; Concrete Structures; Betongbyggnad;

    Sammanfattning : Tunnels in hard and jointed rock are normally excavated in an arch shape to enable the rock mass to support its weight. Since the beginning of the 1980's, fibre reinforced shotcrete (FRS) in combination with rock bolts have been the dominating support method for hard rock tunnels. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Peak Shear Strength of Rock Joints – Towards a Methodology for Prediction Based on Field Data

    Författare :Francisco Ríos Bayona; Fredrik Johansson; Diego Mas Ivars; Stefan Larsson; José Muralha; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rock joints; peak shear strength; DEM; matedness; aperture; Bergssprickor; skjuvhållfasthet; DEM; sprickans passning; sprickvidd; Jord- och bergmekanik; Soil and Rock Mechanics;

    Sammanfattning : The rock joint shear strength at field scale is an important design parameter and remains a challenge for rock mechanics engineers. In Sweden, there exist a large number of concrete dams that are founded on rock masses which in many cases contain sub-horizontal rock joints. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Accident Risk and Environmental Assessment : Development of an Assessment Guideline with Examination in Northern Scandinavia

    Författare :Markus Lundkvist; Lennart Strömquist; Christer Jonasson; Rolf Nyberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geography; accident; risk; hazard; environmental assessment; geomorphology; railway; road; avalanche; debris flow; rock fall; slush flow; torrent; moose; reindeer; environmental impact assessment; proposal alternatives; Kiruna; Narvik; Geografi; Other earth sciences; Övrig geovetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : In environmental impact assessment (EIA), accident risk should be considered as one impact. However, few studies have compared assessed risk levels with documented accidents. There is thus a need for assessing accuracy of risk assessment methodologies. LÄS MER
