  1. 6. Aspects of Disability in Rheumatoid Arthritis : a five-year follow-up in the Swedish TIRA project

    Författare :Mathilda Björk; Björn Gerdle; Ingrid Thyberg; Thomas Skogh; Klas Rikner; Karin Harms-Ringdahl; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rheumatoid arthritis RA ; disability; hand function; pain intensity; ADL; sick leave; prediction; Rheumatology; Reumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a progressive disease, often leading to disability. Because the disease course develops rapidly during the first years after diagnosis, more knowledge is needed about the early disease course to minimize later disability. LÄS MER

  2. 7. Gastrointestinal Manifestations and Pathophysiological Mechanisms in Systemic Sclerosis

    Författare :Karin Franck-Larsson; Anders Rönnblom; Wilhelm Graf; Olof Hallböök; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rheumatology; Reumatologi; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare systemic, autoimmune disease characterized by vascular changes and fibrosis of the skin and internal organs. Patients with SSc more frequently than healthy controls reported upper gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms, which was more abundant in the diffuse cutaneous form (dcSSc) of the disease than in the limited (lcSSc). 3. 8. Disease activity, function and costs in early rheumatoid arthritis

    Författare :Eva Hallert; Thomas Skogh; Jan Persson; Ronald van Vollenhoven; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Antirheumatic agents; Rheumatoid arthritis; Cost of illness; Health care costs; Joints physiopathology; Sex factors; Rheumatology; Reumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a major cause of progressive joint damage and disability, and is associated with decline in quality of life, reduced ability to work and increased health care utilisation. The economic consequences of the disease are substantial for the individuals and their families and for the society as a whole. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Systemic lupus erythematosus and rheumatoid arthritis : analyses of candidate genes involved in immune functions, for susceptibility and severity

    Författare :Martin Johansson; Solbritt Rantapää Dahlqvist; Ingrid Lundberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; SLE; RA; oestrogen; renal disorder; ESR1; PDCD1; PTPN22; association; severity; Rheumatology; Reumatologi; Medicine; medicin;

    Sammanfattning : Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune rheumatic disease with systemic manifestations characterized by auto-antibodies directed against different parts of the cell nucleus including DNA, histones and ribosomes. The systemic inflammation can cause damage to multiple organs, e.g., kidneys, skin, heart, lungs and the nervous system. LÄS MER

  5. 10. Autoantibodies and genetic variation in rheumatoid arthritis : aspects on susceptibility and disease course

    Författare :Alf Kastbom; Thomas Skogh; Peter Söderkvist; Alex Karlsson-Parra; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rheumatoid arthritis; autoantibodies; single-nucleotide polymorphisms; disease course; Rheumatology; Reumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease characterized by chronic inflammation and subsequent destruction of synovial joints. Although its causes remain largely unknown, a substantial genetic contribution is known to exist. LÄS MER
