  2. 17. An experimental investigation of electron confinement in reversed-field pinches

    Författare :Anders Welander; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Experimental studies aimed at an improved understanding ofelectron confinement in reversed-field pinch (RFP) plasmas arepresented. Different diagnostic methods have been employed:Thomson scattering and soft x-ray continuum measurements wereused to detect ektrons in the core of the plasma, x-rayemission from an insertable target was used to detect energeticelectrons in the edge region. 4. 19. Computational Studies of Magnetohydrodynamic Stability for Reversed-Field Pinches and Tokamaks

    Författare :Donghui Liu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : This work describes the ideal & resistive Magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) stability properties of Tokamak and Reversed-Field Pinch (RFP) plasmas. The first four papers are concerned with the cylindrical approximation of RFPs and tokamaks whereas the final two papers deal with a fully toroidal description. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Closed-loop control and identification of resistive shell magnetohydrodynamics for the reversed-field pinch

    Författare :Erik Olofsson; Per Brunsell; Wolfgang Suttrop; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Plasma physics with fusion; Plasmafysik med fusion; Automatic control; Reglerteknik;

    Sammanfattning : It is demonstrated that control software updates for the magnetic confinement fusion experiment EXTRAP T2R can enable novel studies of plasma physics. Specifically, it is shown that the boundary radial magnetic field in T2R can be maintained at finite levels by feedback. LÄS MER
