6. Reverse Transcriptase Activity Assays for Retrovirus Quantitation and Characterization
Sammanfattning : Reverse transcriptase (RT) is a crucial enzyme for retrovirus replication, and its presence in the virion is indispensable for infectivity. This thesis illustrates the use of RT activity assays as tools for quantitation and characterization of different retroviruses, particularly HIV. LÄS MER
7. Segmentation and fitting for geometric reverse engineering : processing data captured by a laser profile scanner mounted on an industrial robot
Sammanfattning : Geometric Reverse Engineering (GRE) is the problem of creating CAD models of real objects by measuring point data from their surfaces. The GRE process is usually divided into four sub processes, data capturing, preprocessing, segmentation, fitting and finally CAD model creation. To automate the GRE process the sub processes need to be integrated. LÄS MER
8. Logistics Systems for Recycling - Efficient Collection of Household Waste
Sammanfattning : This dissertation investigates collection and recycling of household waste with focus on packaging materials. The purpose is how to describe and explain the d esign of a collection system according to different system environments in orde r to achieve high logistics performance in terms of low cost and high service. 9. Molecular Mechanisms in Vascular Endothelin B Receptor Up-Regulation
Sammanfattning : Cardiovascular diseases are characterized by changes in morphology and function of the blood vessels. Different signalling molecules are involved in these changes. Endothelin-1 (ET-1) is one of the most potent signalling molecules found in man. Its actions are mediated by two receptors, the ETA and the ETB receptors. LÄS MER
10. Bildet sett fra innsiden : Ikonoklastiske og matematiske konsepter i Florenskijs omvendte perspektiv
Sammanfattning : For the Armenian-Russian mathematician, theologian and art-theoretician Pavel Florensky (1882–1937), the so-called reverse perspective of the Byzantine cult-image (in Greek: eikon) functioned not only as a phenomenon within painting, but also as an expression of a world-view that should ultimately define a cultural distinction between Russia and Europe. Florensky argued in various ways that the Russian-Orthodox reverse perspective represents ethical and aesthetical values that are superior to the Western linear perspective. LÄS MER
