  1. 1. The Measurement of Subjective Well-Being: Item Response Theory, Classical Test Theory, and Multidimensional Item Response Theory

    Författare :Ali Al Nima; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Life Satisfaction; Negative Affect; Positive Affect; Harmoni in Life Subjective Well-Being; Item Response Theory; Classical Test Theory; Multidimensional Item Response Theory.;

    Sammanfattning : For over 35 years, modern science has conceptualized happiness as subjective well-being, which has until recently been understood as a dual construct consisting of an affective component (positive and negative affect) and a cognitive component (life satisfaction). Nevertheless, for the last five years, theoretical work and both quantitative and qualitative empirical work have suggested that the concept of subjective well-being omits both a lay and an Eastern way of understanding happiness. 2. 2. Efficient Calculation of Nonlinear Spectroscopic Properties within the Time-Dependent Density Functional Theory Approximation

    Författare :Karan Ahmadzadeh; Patrick Norman; Johannes Neugebauer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Cubic response; DFT; Response theory; Theoretical Chemistry and Biology; Teoretisk kemi och biologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis introduces a novel computational scheme tailored for efficient calculations of nonlinear spectroscopic observables. First, a derivation and implementation of an algorithm designed to harness the linearity of the Fock matrix construction in calculating two-photon absorption cross-sections within the self-consistent field approximation is presented. 3. 3. Pharmacometric Investigations of Prediction Precision and Advances of Models for Composite Scale Data

    Författare :Gustaf Wellhagen; Maria C. Kjellsson; Bengt Hamrén; Per Olsson Gisleskog; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; pharmacometrics; modelling; non-linear mixed effects modelling; composite scale data; total score data; total score analysis; precision prediction; bounded integer; bounded integer model; IRT-informed total score analysis; item response theory-informed; mixed models for repeated measures; MMRM; dose-response; dose-response mixed models for repeated measures; DR-MMRM; HbA1c models; fit-for-purpose analysis; clinical trial analysis; Farmaceutisk vetenskap; Pharmaceutical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Clinical trials are needed to evaluate new treatments. In late-stage clinical trials, failures are mostly due to lack of efficacy. Fit-for-purpose analysis methods will likely increase the success rates and advance drug development by providing higher precision to support decisions such as go/no-go, dose selection, or sample size. 4. 4. Statistical modeling in international large-scale assessments

    Författare :Inga Laukaityte; Marie Wiberg; Kenny Bränberg; Ewa Rolfsman; Bernard Veldkamp; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; multilevel model; plausible values; sampling weights; missing information; multiple imputation; non-monotone missing pattern; TIMSS; PISA; Statistics; statistik; pedagogik; Education;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis contributes to the area of research based on large-scale educational assessments, focusing on the application of multilevel models. The role of sampling weights, plausible values (response variable imputed multiple times) and imputation methods are demonstrated by simulations and applications to TIMSS (Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study) and PISA (Programme for International Student Assessment) data. 5. 5. Adolescent mental health : time trends and validity of self-report measures

    Författare :Ida Blomqvist; Eva Henje; Inga Dennhag; Anne Hammarström; Lotte Haverman; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Adolescent; classical test theory; computer adaptive testing; cross-sectional; differential item functioning; graded response model; item banks; item response theory; measurement invariance; mental health; Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System; Reynolds Adolescent Depression Scale second edition; self-report measures; time trends; barn- och ungdomspsykiatri; Child and Youth Psychiatry;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Studies of time trends of adolescent self-reported mental health suggest an increase of mental health symptoms globally. Unfortunately, several studies within the field have methodological problems, such as short time-period between measurements and different mental health measures over time. LÄS MER
