  1. 1. Measuring occupational dust exposure with a passive sampler

    Författare :Mariam Shirdel; Ingvar Bergdahl; Britt Andersson; Håkan Wingfors; Christer Johansson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; dust particles; mineral; PM10; PM2.5; respirable fraction; UNC passive aerosol sampler; working environment;

    Sammanfattning : Objectives: In a working environment it is important to measure dust exposure to evaluate possible health issues. Passive sampling could be an alternative to active sampling with pumps when measuring occupational dust exposure. One passive sampler is the University of North Carolina passive aerosol sampler (UNC sampler). LÄS MER

    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PBDE; BTBPE; DeBDethane; Thyroid hormone; Occupational exposure; Human plasma; Air sampling; MeO-PBDE; PBDE; BTBPE; DeBDetan; Sköldkörtelhormon; Yrkesexponering; Human plasma; Luftprovtagning; MeO-PBDE; Environmental engineering; Miljöteknik; Enviromental Science; Miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), 1,2-bis(2,4,6-tribromophenoxy)ethane (BTBPE) and 1,2-bis(2,3,4,5,6-pentabromophenyl)ethane (DeBDethane) were analysed in air and blood samples from workers at an electronics recycling facility. The samples were collected regularly for 18 months and were analysed by isomer specific GC/MS analysis in both electron impact (EI) and negative chemical ionisation (NCI) mode. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Occupational air pollutants and non-malignant respiratory disorders especially in miners

    Författare :Ulf Hedlund; Per Gustavsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; respiratory symptoms; occupational epidemiology; mining; asthma; airway inflammation; dust; diesel exhaust; quartz; chronic bronchitis; silicosis; Occupational and Environmental Medicine; arbets- och miljömedicin;

    Sammanfattning : Aim. To assess associations between occupational air pollution and respiratory health, especially in miners.Background. Indications of associations between occupational exposure or social economic status and respiratory health have been found in several population-based studies. LÄS MER
