  2. 7. Networks that organised competition : corporate resource sharing between Swedish property underwriters 1875-1950

    Författare :Josef Lilljegren; Magnus Lindmark; Ann-Kristin Bergquist; Erica Salvaj; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; corporate networks; business history; property insurance; interfirm; insurance history; interlocking directorates;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis investigates the corporate networks of Swedish property underwriters 1875-1950. During this period, networks of increasing intensity was an essential part in the organisation of the Swedish property insurance market. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Resources, the environment, and sex : Examining variation in sexually selected traits in a livebearing fish

    Författare :Erika Fernlund Isaksson; John Fitzpatrick; Gil G. Rosenthal; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; mate choice; sexual selection; competition; resource restriction; condition dependence; etologi; Ethology;

    Sammanfattning : Striking variation is observed in sexually selected traits. These traits influence the outcome of competition and choice before and after mating. Before mating, animals compete for the access to mating partners and choose who to mate with between several potential mates. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Functional and structural characterizations of phytoplankton-bacteria interactions in response to environmental challenges

    Författare :Eva Sörenson; Catherine Legrand; Elin Lindehoff; Jarone Pinhassi; Sonya Dyhrman; Linnéuniversitetet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Interactions; phytoplankton; microalgae; bacteria; communities; aquatic; diversity; functions; structure; species-specific; microbiome; core microbiome; response diversity; resilience; resource partitioning; competition; coexistence; amplicon sequencing; metatranscriptome; Akvatisk ekologi; Aquatic Ecology; Mikrobiologi; Microbiology;

    Sammanfattning : Microorganisms, such as phytoplankton and bacteria, make up ≈70% of aquatic biomass and contribute 50-85% of the oxygen in Earth’s atmosphere. The microbial loop concept and the discovery of the large diversity in microbial communities acknowledge that biotic interactions between microorganisms in addition to resource competition enable the recycling of energy and nutrients in aquatic food webs. 5. 10. Bottom-up and top-down regulation of heterogeneous lake food webs

    Författare :Fernando Chaguaceda; Peter Eklöv; Kristin Scharnweber; Lars Tranvik; Blake Matthews; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; food webs; resource coupling; ontogenetic diet shifts; resource specialization; bottom-up; top-down; browning; eutrophication; lake; mesocosms; fatty acids; apparent competition; Biology with specialization in Limnology; Biologi med inriktning mot limnologi;

    Sammanfattning : Food webs are networks of organisms linked by trophic interactions that regulate the responses of ecosystems to environmental change. Such regulation is a result of the effects of resources on the abundance of their consumers (i.e. bottom-up effects) and/or the influence of consumers on the abundance of their resources (i. LÄS MER
