16. Soil phosphorus – a multidimensional resource that plays an important role for grassland plant species richness
Sammanfattning : The semi-natural grassland habitats contain an important part of the plant diversity in Europe. Changes in farming practices have lead to drastic decreases in plant species richness. The aim of the present thesis is to contribute to the knowledge about mechanisms governing the plant species richness in grasslands with emphasis on soil nutrients. LÄS MER
17. Cooperative and non-cooperative wireless access : Resource and infrastructure sharing regimes
Sammanfattning : Future wireless networks will combine multiple radio technologies and subsystems, possibly managed by competing network providers. For such systems it may be advantageous to let the end nodes (terminals) make some or all of the resource management decisions. LÄS MER
18. Marketisation of Swedish Primary Care : Patient Choice, Provider Competition and Payment Incentives
Sammanfattning : In the last decades, market elements—such as patient choice, provider competition and payment incentives—have been introduced in Swedish primary care, the Patient Choice reform in 2010 being pivotal for the marketisation of the sector. The political intentions with the reform were to empower patients and increase provider diversity, thereby stimulating competition and improving quality and access. LÄS MER
19. Adaptive evolution in multidimensional trait spaces
Sammanfattning : Negative frequency-dependent disruptive selection, which arises due to the interplay between organisms of a population and their environment, is an important element driving phenotypic diversification and even speciation. Such selection regime can result from frequency- and density-dependent interactions between the organisms and their environment, so that the fitness landscape itself changes as the population evolves. 20. Evolving ecological communities in changing environments
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of theoretical studies of the evolutionary consequences of environmental change in ecological communities. Paper I and II are concerned with the origin of diversity, i.e. how a single lineage can split into two, under the influence of selection induced by competitive interactions (evolutionary branching).
