  3. 3. Photodetachment of Negative Ions. Experimental Investigations of Threshold and Continuum Structures

    Författare :Joakim Sandström; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; electron correlation; resonance ionization spectroscopy; doubly excited states; electron affinity; accelerator mass spectrometry; photodetachment;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis photodetachment studies of atomic negative ions where one or several electrons are detached from a negative ion are presented. Negative ions are unique objects since their formation and destruction mechanisms strongly depend on the correlated motion of the valence electrons. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Photodetachment Studies of Negative Ion Structure

    Författare :Gunnar Haeffler; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The structure of atomic negative ions has been investigated experimentally by studying photodetachment, which is the process of photon-induced electron emission from a negative ion. The interaction between the valence electrons and the nucleus is weaker in negative ions than in atoms and positive ions. LÄS MER
