  1. 11. Conversion processes for biofuel production

    Författare :Jerry Luis Solis; Yohannes Kiros; Mohammad Taherzadeh; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Second-generation biofuels; biodiesel; heterogeneous catalysts; non-edible oils; ethanol; residual biomass; native yeast strains.; Andra generationens biobränslen; biodiesel; heterogena katalysatorer; oätliga oljor; etanol; rester av biomassa; naturliga jäststammar; Chemical Engineering; Kemiteknik; Energy Technology; Energiteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Despite the global positive impacts of soybean-, maize- and sugarcane-based (first-generation) liquid biofuels, several drawbacks pertaining to increased use of agricultural land, causing deforestation in some countries and extensive practice of fertilizers have been observed. As a result, developing advanced (second- and third-generation) liquid biofuels have been identified as better alternatives and are considered to be of great importance in the future. LÄS MER

  2. 12. Steady State Operation and Control of Power Distribution Systems in the Presence of Distributed Generation

    Författare :Ferry Viawan; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; distance protection; stochastic assessment; voltage dip; line drop compensation; distribution systems; on-load tap changer; overcurrent protection; sensitive equipment; voltage dip immunity; voltage control; short circuit; reactive power control; pilot protection.; protection coordination; protection; Distributed Generation; losses;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis, the impact of distributed generation (DG) on steady state operation and control of power distribution systems is investigated. Over the last few years, a number of factors have led to an increased interest in DG schemes. DG is gaining more and more attention worldwide as an alternative to large-scale central generating stations. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Robustness Analysis of Residual Stresses in Castings

    Författare :Magnus Hofwing; Niclas Strömberg; Mårten Olsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is about robustness analysis of residual stresses in castings. This topic includes the analysis of residual stresses in castings and the robustness analysis itself, both covered in the thesis. Residual stresses are important when designing casted components.
