    Sammanfattning : India introduced family planning in the ‘50s, legalized abortion in the ‘70s, and accomplished a remarkable drop in maternal mortality and fertility since 1990.     Sammanfattning : Since the Second World War, most contemporary wars have taken place within countries and imposed overwhelming stressors on civilian populations. Women living in conflict may be particularly at risk of sexual and reproductive health concerns, including pregnancy-related mortality and morbidity that could have been prevented, a lack of access to health care goods and services, and conflict-related sexual violence. By conceptualising implementation of international human rights norms in a national legal context as a play of discourses competing for hegemony, it becomes possible to explore the workings of human rights constructions as well as where and how implementation fails or succeeds.     Sammanfattning : Adolescent pregnancy has been associated with adverse health and social outcomes, but it has also been favorably viewed as a pathway to adulthood. In Ecuador, where 20% of girls aged between 15-19 years get pregnant, the adolescent fertility rate has increased and inequalities between adolescent girls from different educational, socio-economic levels and geographical regions are prominent: 43% of illiterate adolescents become pregnant compared to 11% with secondary education.
