  1. 21. Macroalgae in the Baltic Sea : responses to low salinity and nutrient enrichment in Ceramium and Fucus

    Författare :Lena Bergström; Lars Ericson; Lena Kautsky; Erik Bonsdorff; Christine A Maggs; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ecology; adaptation; asexual reproduction; Baltic Sea; Gulf of Bothnia; salinity; macroalgae; nutrients; sexual reproduction; stress; Ekologi; Terrestrial; freshwater and marine ecology; Terrestisk; limnisk och marin ekologi; ekologisk botanik; Ecological Botany;

    Sammanfattning : The brackish Baltic Sea is a marginal environment for both marine and freshwater species. The rate of ecological differentiation is presumably high due to strong selection pressure from a gradient of decreasing salinity that has been present in its current state for only about 3 000 years. 2. 22. Sex, Molecules, and Gene control : Ecophysiological and evolutionary aspects of key sponge species from Antarctic shallow waters and the deep sea

    Författare :Vasiliki Koutsouveli; Paco Cárdenas; Anders Backlund; Ana Riesgo; Cassandra G. Extavour; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Porifera; Demospongiae; Geodia spp.; Phakellia ventilabrum; reproduction; gametogenesis; Antarctica; deep sea; sponge grounds; histology; molecular machinery; electron microscopy; RNA-seq; proteomics; lipidomics; Farmakognosi; Pharmacognosy;

    Sammanfattning : Very little is known about the ecophysiological aspects of Porifera (sponges) from Antarctica and North Atlantic, even though they are keystone components of these habitats. Being the earliest diverging metazoan lineage, sponges also play a fundamental role in our understanding of animal evolution. LÄS MER

  3. 23. How reproductive is a reproduction? : Digital transmission of text-based documents

    Författare :Lars Björk; Högskolan i Borås; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Boundary objects; Cultural heritage; Digital humanities; Digital transmission; Digitisation; Document studies; Libraries; Materiality; Media theory; Library and Information Science; Biblioteks- och informationsvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : Heritage institutions today increasingly rely on digital formats for access, use and re-useof their collections. Books and other text-based documents, previously accessed on locationin libraries are now transferred into digital format and managed, distributed, andengaged as binary encoded representations. 4. 24. Distribution patterns of fleshy-fruited woody plants at local and regional scales

    Författare :Matilda Arnell; Ove Eriksson; Johan Ehrlén; Sara A.O. Cousins; Angela Moles; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fleshy fruits; woody plants; dispersal; distribution patterns; range filling; dispersal limitation; historical land use; spatial associations; point-pattern analysis; recruitment; reproduction; pollination; fruit set; fruit-removal; Daphne mezereum; Plant Ecology; växtekologi;

    Sammanfattning : Fleshy-fruited woody plants share a long history with humans, providing us with food and wood material. Because of this relation, we have actively moved some of these plants across landscapes and continents. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Autolytinae: molecules, morphology, and reproduction

    Författare :Arne Nygren; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Phylogeny; systematics; revision; new taxa; PhyloCode; reconstruction of ancestral states.;

    Sammanfattning : Autolytines constitute a well delineated group of syllid polychaetes, separated from other syllids by the presence of a sinuous pharynx, lack of ventral cirri and reproduction with dimorphic sexes. The group comprises c. 170 nominal species distributed worldwide, mostly inhabiting hard substrates restricted to the continental shelf. LÄS MER
