1. Repetition Recurrence Return
Sammanfattning : Repetition is part of our everyday lives: it is all around us, in patterns, art, and habits like having a cup of tea or getting dressed each morning. Repetition, recurrence, and return are also fundamental in nature – there are shifts in the seasons and regular, rhythmic elements, such as the weather, that occur over and over again. LÄS MER
2. Patterns of Repetition and Change in a Psychoanalytically Informed Therapeutic Environment for Severely Disturbed Patients
Sammanfattning : Factors in the environment and therapeutic relationship which facilitate, as well as those which obstruct the process of psychic change were investigated in patients with psychoses or severe personality disorders, starting from a preliminary theoretical model for psychoanalytically oriented treatment. Ten patients consecutively admitted to a Swedish therapeutic community, Bikupan, and who completed the treatment, as well as their 9 therapists were studied in detail during, and up to five years after the treatment. 3. Timing Modes for the MAX IV Storage Rings
Sammanfattning : The MAX IV facility includes two storage rings, operated at 1.5 and 3 GeV energy, for the purpose of producing high-brilliance synchrotron radiation for users. The 1.5 GeV ring replaces the previous MAX II and MAX III storage rings as a source of UV and soft X-rays, whereas the 3 GeV ring is optimized for hard X-rays. LÄS MER
4. Suicidal behaviour in children and adolescents in Sweden and some European countries : epidemiological and clinical aspects
Sammanfattning : The starting point for this thesis is the empirical observation that in Sweden, as in many other European countries, suicide is the leading cause of death among men aged 15-34 and ranks second for young females. Attempted suicide also constitutes a major public-health problem both in Sweden and in the rest of Europe. LÄS MER
5. Suicide attempts among immigrants in Europe
Sammanfattning : Introduction and Aims: Immigrants comprise about 10% of the total population of Europe, but our knowledge about their suicidal behaviour is still insufficient. This study presents an overview of suicidal behaviour of immigrants in Europe compared to host populations focusing on: (I) The frequencies of attempted suicide, compared between immigrants and their hosts, between different immigrant groups, and between immigrants and their countries of origin, (II) the variations of these frequencies across gender, (III) the recommendations of care given in medical services after the attempted suicide and (IV) the repetition patterns of attempted suicide within 12 months following the index (baseline) suicide attempt as well as the timing of the repetition.
