  1. 1. Study of Non-metallic Inclusion in Alloy 825

    Författare :Hans Kellner; Andrey Karasev; Pär Jönsson; Guozhu Ye; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Alloy 825; FeTi70R alloy; non-metallic inclusions; inclusion distribution; clusters; electromagnetic and gas stirring; ladle treatment; electrolytic extraction; stirring directions; Alloy 825; FeTi70R legering; icke-metalliska inneslutningar; inneslutnings fördelning; kluster; elektromagnetisk och gas omrörning; skänkugnsbehandling; elektrolytisk extraktion; omrörningshåll; Metallurgical process science; Metallurgisk processvetenskap; Steel Forming and Surface Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : It is well known that inclusions affect the properties of steels and alloys. Therefore, it is important to understand what type of inclusions that exist and how they behave and especially with a focus on large size inclusions. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Uptake and bioaccumulation of ionizable pharmaceuticals in aquatic organisms

    Författare :Marja L. Boström; Enhet akvatisk ekologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Antidepressiva medel; Avloppsvatten; BAF; BCF; Bioackumulation; Biokoncentration; Biomagnifikation; CYP; Extraktionsteknik; HF-LPME; Joniserbara läkemedel; Metabolism; pH; Riskanalys; Tolerans; Antidepressant; BAF; BCF; Bioaccumulation; Bioconcentration; Biomagnification; CYP; Extraction technique; HF-LPME; Ionizable pharmaceutical; Metabolism; pH; Risk assessment; Tolerance; Wastewater;

    Sammanfattning : Pharmaceuticals are found at low concentrations (ng/L) in aquatic environments but bioaccumulation may result in aquatic organisms reaching internal effect levels (µg/L). Environmental hazard assessments include standardized bioaccumulation tests but contrary to the model substances around which the frameworks are built most pharmaceuticals are designed to mimic endogenic chemicals, ionizable, and less lipophilic. 3. 3. Models of Electoral Competition : Three Essays on Political Economics

    Författare :Jan Klingelhöfer; Torsten Persson; Christian Schultz; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Elections; Lobbying; Rents; Imperfect Information; Median Voter Theorem; Accountability; Valence; Economics; Nationalekonomi; Economics; nationalekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of three essays in theoretical political economics. In "The Swing Voters' Blessing", I model elections with quality differences between two ideological candidates. The quality differences are only observable to a limited number of informed voters. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Bacterial Activity and Community Composition in the Rhizosphere. Influence of plant species, root age, nitrogen addition and mycorrhizal status

    Författare :Katarina Söderberg; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; CLPP; Microbiology; bacteriology; virology; mycology; Mikrobiologi; bakteriologi; virologi; mykologi; Biolog; PLFA; mycorrhizal status; nitrogen addition; along roots; plant species; root age; thymidine and leucine incorporation; bacterial composition; Rhizosphere; bacterial activity;

    Sammanfattning : Microbial activity in soil is generally assumed to be limited by carbon availability. The soil closest to roots, the rhizosphere, is therefore a zone of high microbial activity due to carbon containing substances released by the root. In this work short-term effects in the rhizosphere have been the subject of investigation. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Digital Baseband Modeling and Correction of Radio Frequency Power Amplifiers

    Författare :Per Landin; Peter Händel; Magnus Isaksson; Wendy Van Moer; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : Aspects related to behavioral modeling and correction of distortions for radio frequency (RF) power amplifiers (PAs) are treated in the thesis.    When evaluating the performance of a behavioral model it is important to, first of all, use an evaluation criterion, and second, make sure that the criterion actually tells something about the behavior one wishes to describe.
