    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon; PAH; benzo[a]pyrene; B[a]P; carcinogenicity; cancer risk assessment; complex matrix; automation; hyphenation; multidimensional chromatography; two-dimensional; method translation; online fractionation; benz[j]aceanthrylene; B[j]A; relative potency factor; Analytical Chemistry; analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : One group of organic environmental pollutants which are potentially hazardous to human health is polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs). These compounds consist of two or more benzene rings in their structure among which benzo[a]pyrene (B[a]P) is classified as a human carcinogen. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Quantitative approaches for health risk assessment of environmental pollutants : estimation of differences in sensitivity, relative potencies, and margins of exposure

    Författare :Fereshteh Kalantari; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Historically, quantitative health risk assessment of chemical substances is based on deterministic approaches. For a more realistic and informative health risk assessment, however, the variability and uncertainty inherent in measurements should be taken into consideration. LÄS MER

  3. 3. The impact of signaling factors on intervertebral disc degeneration and regeneration - studies on disc and mesenchymal stem cells from chronic low back pain patients

    Författare :Daphne Hingert; Göteborgs universitet; Göteborgs universitet; Gothenburg University; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Regenerative medicine; Translational medicine;

    Sammanfattning : INTRODUCTION: Chronic low back pain (LBP) is associated with degeneration of the intervertebral discs (IVDs). Increased expressions of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin-1β (IL-1β) and matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in degenerated IVDs lead to loss of proteoglycan and extracellular matrix (ECM) which affect the viability of the disc cells (DCs).
