    Sammanfattning : In this study, the goal is to predict the microstructure evolution during and after the hot working of a martensitic stainless steel with 13% chromium using a physically-based model in the form of a MATLAB toolbox. This model is based on dislocation density theory and consists of coupled sets of evolution equations for dislocation, vacancies, recovery, recrystallization, and grain growth. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Thermomechanical Processing of Nickel-Base Alloy 825

    Författare :Munir Al-Saadi; Pär Jönsson; Christopher Hulme-Smith; Göran Engberg; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Alloy 825; Cast and wrought structures; Hot compression test; Microstructural evaluation; Modelling; Yield strength; Strengthening mechanisms; Teknisk materialvetenskap; Materials Science and Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Alloy 825 material was studied using a Gleeble-3800 thermosimulatorby performing single-hot compression experiments.Optical microscopy and electron backscatter diffraction wereutilized to characterize the microstructure. Dynamicrecrystallization is not considerable in the as-cast alloy anddislocation recovery is deemed to be dominant. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Metamorphic zircon formation in gabbroic rocks – the tale of microtextures

    Författare :Victoria Beckman; Berggrundsgeologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Zircon formation; metamorphism; prograde; gabbr; zircon; baddeleyite; zircon; baddeleyite; metamorphic; prograde; zircon textures;

    Sammanfattning : Dating of metamorphic events is crucial for the understanding and reconstruction of large-scale geological processes such as orogenesis. Zircon is one of the most commonly used minerals for dating of igneous and metamorphic events. Zircon incorporates uranium and excludes lead during crystallization, and with time the uranium decays to lead. LÄS MER
