  1. 1. Amino acid conjugation of fatty acids as a novel pathway in lipid metabolism

    Författare :Sarah-Jayne Reilly; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Peroxisomes are cell organelles that play an important role in the metabolism of a variety of lipids including very long chain fatty acids, dicarboxylic acids, bile acids, and xenobiotic carboxylic acids to name a few. To accomplish these tasks peroxisomes contain many proteins involved in lipid metabolism including members of the Type I acyl-CoA thioesterase/acyltransferase protein family. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Functional characterization of a peroxisomal acyltransferase gene family

    Författare :Sarah-Jayne Reilly; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : Peroxisomes are cell organelles that play an important role in the metabolism of a variety of lipids including very long chain fatty acids, dicarboxylic acids, bile acids, and xenobiotic carboxylic acids. The metabolism of lipids in peroxisomes requires the concerted efforts of many different enzymes, which includes members of the type I acyl-CoA thioesterase/acyltransferase protein family and the nudix hydrolases. Sammanfattning : Radionuclide molecular imaging is an emerging multidisciplinary technique that is used in modern medicine to visualise diseases at cellular and molecular levels. This thesis is based on five papers (I-V) and focuses on the development of site-specific radiolabelled recombinant anti-HER2 Affibody molecules and preclinical evaluations in vitro and in vivo of the labelled conjugates. 4. 4. Design and analysis of response selective samples in observational studies

    Författare :Maria Grünewald; Ola Hössjer; Keith Humphreys; Marie Reilly; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ascertainment; missing data; outcome dependent sampling; response selective samples; sequential design; stochastic EM algorithm; Mathematical statistics; Matematisk statistik; matematisk statistik; Mathematical Statistics;

    Sammanfattning : Outcome dependent sampling may increase efficiency in observational studies. It is however not always obvious how to sample efficiently, and how to analyze the resulting data without introducing bias. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Development of body composition and its relationship with physical activity in healthy Swedish children : A longitudinal study until 4.5 years of age including evaluation of methods to assess physical activity and energy intake

    Författare :Hanna Henriksson; Marie Löf; Elisabet Forsum; John Reilly; Linköpings universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : Childhood obesity according to the World Health Organization is one of the most serious public health challenges of the 21st century. The proportion of childhood obesity is high both globally and in Sweden. This is of great concern since obese children tend to stay obese in adulthood. LÄS MER
