21. Quivers, superconformal field theories and higher symmetries
Sammanfattning : Quantum field theory (QFT) currently provides our best description of the natural world. Over the past century, it has been able to accurately reproduce many experimental results to an astonishing degree of accuracy and predict the existence of new particles. Despite this, QFT suffers from several mathematical problems. LÄS MER
22. Andrahandskontrakt i folkhemmet : närmiljö och kvinnors förändringsstrategier
Sammanfattning : The thesis consists of three studies of problem areas from the 1940s and 1950s, in which women’s organisations in Örebro - a middle-sized Swedish town – demanded that municipal planning of the local environment should ensure that reproductive work, i.e. housework and care work, was organised in a way deemed satisfactory by women. 23. Capacity Analysis and Receiver Design in the Presence of Fiber Nonlinearity
Sammanfattning : The majority of today's global Internet traffic is conveyed through optical fibers. The ever-increasing data demands have pushed the optical systems to evolve from using regenerators and direct-direction receivers to a coherent multi-wavelength network. LÄS MER
24. Theory of water-proton spin relaxation in complex biological systems
Sammanfattning : In complex biological systems (e.g. gels, cross-linked proteins and biological tissues), the longitudinal spin relaxation of water protons is primarily induced by exchange-mediated orientational randomization (EMOR) of intra- and intermolecular magnetic dipole-dipole couplings. 25. Quantum Theory of Exciton-Exciton Interactions in Atomically Thin Semiconductors
Sammanfattning : Atomically thin materials such as transition-metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have emerged as an unprecedented platform for engineering future optoelectronic devices and studying exotic quantum phases of matter. In particular, the strong Coulomb interaction in these materials enables the formation of tightly-bound excitons, electron-hole pairs with neither purely fermionic nor bosonic character. LÄS MER
