1. Formic acid adsorption and photodecomposition on rutile TiO2 (110) : An in situ infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy study
Sammanfattning : TiO2 based photocatalysis is an emerging green nanotechnology that can be used forremoval of pollutants from water and air. It has had an increased research interest, bothfrom an application and fundamental point of view, during the last decades. LÄS MER
2. Vibrational Spectroscopy of Surface Adsorbates on Metal Surfaces. Experiments and Calculations
Sammanfattning : This work deals with a detailed analysis of the vibrational spectra of methoxy (CH3O-) and ethoxy (CH3CH2O-) on W(110) and Cu(100) single crystal surfaces. By using theoretical ab initio quantum mechanical modeling, it is demonstrated that an unprecedented quantitative understanding of the vibrational frequencies of a surface adsorbate can be obtained. 3. Surface Vibrational and Electron Spectroscopy - Experiments and first-principle calculations
Sammanfattning : This work deals with interpretation of experimental surface spectroscopic data with the aid of first-principle calculations. Surface infrared reflection-absorption spectra as well as spectra from the electron spectroscopic methods photoemission and X-ray absorption are considered. LÄS MER
4. Vibrational Sum Frequency and Infrared Reflection/Absorption Spectroscopy Studies of the Air/Liquid and Liquid/Metal Interfaces
Sammanfattning : Atmospheric corrosion, the most common form of metal corrosion, occurs within the interfacial region between a solid, and the surrounding atmosphere. In fact three phases and two interfaces are involved: the gas, a thin liquid layer, a solid, the gas/liquid and the liquid/solid interfaces. LÄS MER
5. Structure of Self-Assembled Monolayers on Gold Studied by NEXAFS and Photoelectron Spectroscopy
Sammanfattning : Self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) provide well-defined and ordered films of molecules spontaneously chemisorbed on a surface. By designing molecules with desired functionalities, such molecular film can be interesting for a range of applications from molecular electronics to catalysis. LÄS MER
