  1. 1. Human body composition. Reference data and anthropometric equations. The metabolic syndrome and risk

    Författare :Ingrid Larsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :adults; anthropometry; atherosclerotic morbidity; body composition; body fat; cardiovascular disease; DEXA; dual energy x-ray absorptiometry; fat-free mass; FFM; humans; metabolic syndrome; morbidity; mortality; prediction equations; randomly selected sample; reference data; sagittal trunk diameter; TBK; total body potassium; waist circumference;

    Sammanfattning : The determination of body composition is a key to the understanding of the relation between obesity and disease. In order to evaluate body composition data, reference values are needed. Since methods with high validity and reproducibility are expensive and often time consuming, simpler techniques based on anthropometry are needed. LÄS MER

  2. 2. COPD management : exploring conditions for, and experiences of, evidence-based care and eHealth

    Författare :Sarah Marklund; André Nyberg; Karin Wadell; Per Liv; Lisa Skär; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; physical activity; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease; COPD; eHealth; interview; eHealth tools; reference equations; muscle dysfunction; COPD management; physiotherapy; fysioterapi;

    Sammanfattning : Background: Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is one of the leading causes of morbidity and premature death worldwide. It is a systemic disease that affects the whole person, although dyspnea is the mostprominent symptom. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Cardiac surgery and the kidney - studies on the effects of pharmacological interventions on renal perfusion, filtration and oxygenation

    Författare :Gudrun Bragadottir; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kidney failure; acute; glomerular filtration rate; renal circulation; oxygen consumption; cardiac surgery; vasopressin; mannitol; levosimendan; estimating equations;

    Sammanfattning : Acute kidney injury (AKI) commonly complicates cardiac surgery and is associated with high mortality. Renal ischemia is considered to be the major cause. There is a close association between glomerular filtration rate (GFR), tubular sodium reabsorption and renal oxygen consumption (RVO2) in humans. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Assessment of Aerobic Capacity A Novel Rating Scale and Further Development of an Exercise Test including Analysis of Gas Exchange

    Författare :Anita Wisén; Människan i rörelse: hälsa och rehabilitering; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; kinesitherapy; revalidation; rehabilitation; Rehabilitering medicinsk och social ; Physical medicine; Time constant of V O2; Cycle ergometer; Perceived Capacity; Perceived exertion; Heart rate; Oxygen uptake; Reference values; Oxygen kinetics; Repeatability; Thresholds;

    Sammanfattning : Different methods are proposed to assess the aerobic capacity. A novel scale, rating of perceived capacity (RPC) based on metabolic equivalents (METs) from 1 to 20, is presented. Selected MET values are linked to physical activities. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Neutron-Deuteron Scattering and Three-Body Interactions

    Författare :Philippe Mermod; Jan Blomgren; Steven Vigdor; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Nuclear physics; three-body force; neutron; deuteron; elastic scattering; angular distribution; Faddeev equations; Kärnfysik;

    Sammanfattning : High-precision differential cross section data of the neutron-deuteron elastic scattering reaction at 95 MeV are presented. The neutron-proton scattering differential cross section was also measured and used as a reference to allow an accurate absolute normalization of the neutron-deuteron data. LÄS MER
