  1. 16. Problem eller tillgång? En studie om social och etnisk mångfald i högskolan

    Författare :Thérèse Hartman; Christina Gustafsson; Johanna Esseveld; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Higher education; ethnicity; class; democracy; equality; selection; recruitment; redistribution; Education; Pedagogik; pedagogik; Education;

    Sammanfattning : The general problem I am addressing concerns the role of the university as an actor for increased equality and democracy. How does this role manifest itself in selecting and recruiting students to the university and how does it influence teaching? The aim of my empirical study is to describe and understand processes and contexts where ethnicity and class are important. LÄS MER

  2. 17. Speciation analysis of butyl- and phenyltin compounds in environmental samples by GC separation and atomic spectrometric detection

    Författare :Dong Nguyen Van; Wolfgang Frech; Anders Cedergren; Erwin Rosenberg; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organotin speciation analysis; species-specific isotope dilution; inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry; single isotope spike; multi-isotope spike; redistribution; species transformation; preparative liquid chromatography; gas chromatography; line source atomic absorption spectrometry; continuum source atomic absorption spectrometry; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The main goal of the work presented in this thesis is to improve the reliability of existing methods for speciation analysis of organotin compounds Species-specific isotope dilution (SSID) calibration in combination with gas chromatography – inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry was used to investigate the transformation of phenyltin species during sample preparation. Isotope-enriched phenyltin species were synthesized from corresponding isotope-enriched tin metals. LÄS MER

  3. 18. Role of Lipids in the fate of organochlorine compounds in Aquatic Ecosystems

    Författare :Göran Ewald; LUCSUS; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hydrobiology; biotransport; redistribution; bioaccumulation; extraction; ecological persistence; chlorinated fatty acids; DDT; PCB; organic pollutants; Lipids; triacylglycerols; phospholipids; marine biology; aquatic ecology; limnology; Marinbiologi; limnologi; akvatisk ekologi;

    Sammanfattning : Both results of laboratory experiments and material collected in the field have shown the lipid composition in organisms to have a significant effect on the bioaccumulation of pollutants and on the lipid steady-state concentrations of pollutants there. The redistribution of persistent organic pollutants which occurs in organisms as a consequence of the depletion of lipid depot, was studied in a population of migrating Pacific salmon (Oncorhynchus nerka). 4. 19. Social rättvisa i inkluderande idrottsundervisning för elever med rörelsehinder : en utopi?

    Författare :Kajsa Jerlinder; Peter Gill; Jerry Rosenqvist; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; social justice; recognition; redistribution; dilemma; physical education; inclusion; physical disabilities; teachers; social status; identity; attitudes; Education; Pedagogik; Disability research; Handikappsforskning; Sports; Idrott; Handikappvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning :  The aim of this thesis is to contribute to the knowledgebase of inclusion and inclusive education and to outline possible consequences that may arise from an educational ideology of inclusion. The thesis describes a potential dilemma that is both theoretical and practical. LÄS MER

  5. 20. Essays on Economic Behaviour: HIV/AIDS, Schooling, and Inequality

    Författare :Annika Lindskog; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Africa; Malawi; Ethiopia; HIV AIDS; Inequality; Fertility; Mortality; Education; Within-household spillovers; Credit constraints; Diversification; Uncertainty; Redistribution; Fairness;

    Sammanfattning : Paper 1: Economic Inequality and HIV in Malawi To analyze if the spread of HIV is related to economic inequality we estimate multilevel models of the individual probability of HIV infection among young Malawian women. We find a positive association between HIV infection and inequality at both the neighbourhood and district levels, but no effect of individual poverty. LÄS MER
