    Sammanfattning : This study examines the behaviour, attitude and identity of women approached by satyrs on Attic red-figure vases from 530 to 400 BC and in particular how modern conceptions have influenced earlier interpretations of these women. In order to illustrate the diversity of the interactions between women and satyrs, five motifs have been chosen for study – Movement, Rest, Reclining, Body care and Sex. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Attic Black Figure and Red Figure pottery was continuously imported in Cyprus for about 300 years; the first imports are noted ca 580/575 BC, and the last ca 325/300 BC, at about the same time (294 BC) as Cyprus was annexed by Ptolemy I and the city-kingdoms of Cyprus ceased to exist. The material presented in this thesis amounts to 895 pieces of pottery and every possible effort was made to include all known pottery found in Cyprus. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : This study deals with the so-called Lenaia vases, a group of fifty vases which were painted with similar imagery in Attica during 490-420 BC. The motifs of these vases depict "Dionysian" women, drinking wine and sacrificing bloody and bloodless offerings before a cult image of Dionysos. LÄS MER
