21. Structural characterization of Deinococcus radiodurans phytochrome in solution
Sammanfattning : Phytochromes are red/far-red photoreceptors which control a wide spectrum of biological processes inplants, fungi, and bacteria. Although phytochromes have been extensively studied, their mechanism ofaction still remains elusive. The signaling mechanism suggested by crystal structures involves refoldingof the so-called PHY tongue. LÄS MER
22. Membership and Organizational Governance
Sammanfattning : Membership-based organizations perform many functions in society. Federatively organized trade unions, sports organizations, religious congregations and other voluntary or nonprofit organizations are often large, multi-level associations. LÄS MER
23. Platelet and leukocyte activation and their interaction : in experimental prothrombotic and inflammatory states
Sammanfattning : Atherosclerotic disease is associated with inflammation and thrombosis, both of which involve multi-cellular activation and interaction. The present work has investigated the mechanisms of platelet leukocyte cross-talk in vitro, and explored the possibility of multi-cellular activation in vivo in prothrombotic and inflammatory models in healthy volunteers. 24. Structural Interaction between Vehicles. An Investigation of Crash Compatibility between Cars and Heavy Goods Vehicles
Sammanfattning : While frontal collisions between Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs) and passenger cars are rarecompared to car-to-car frontal crashes, they are much more severe. Between 43% and 73% ofall frontal car-to-truck accidents result in fatalities. LÄS MER
25. Hydrogeological and geochemical assessment of aquifer systems with geogenic arsenic in Southeastern Bangladesh : Targeting low arsenic aquifers for safe drinking water supplies in Matlab
Sammanfattning : Naturally occurring arsenic (As) in Holocene aquifers in Bangladesh have undermined a long success of supplying the population with safe drinking water. Arsenic is mobilised in reducing environments through reductive dissolution of Fe(III)-oxyhydroxides. LÄS MER
