    Sammanfattning : Background: Despite advances in the management of facial paralysis and its associated sequelae, therapies targeting the lower facial region remain underdeveloped. This thesis aimed to improve both the diagnostic and therapeutic modalities for facial paralysis, with a focus on the lower face. LÄS MER

    Författare :Touraj Nikazad; Tommy Elfving; Constantin Popa; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; iterative methods; image reconstruction; ART; Cimmino; Kaczmarz; Landweber; sequential iteration; simultaneous iteration; block iteration; semi-convergence; relaxation parameters; stopping rules; discrepancy principle; Numerical analysis; Numerisk analys;

    Sammanfattning : Ill-posed sets of linear equations typically arise when discretizing certain types of integral transforms. A well known example is image reconstruction, which can be modeled using the Radon transform. After expanding the solution into a finite series of basis functions a large, sparse and ill-conditioned linear system occurs. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Perceptual Surface Reconstruction

    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; system; kontroll; Psychology; Psykologi; numerisk analys; Datalogi; systems; control; numerical analysis; Surface; Contour; Depth; Vision; Binocular; Computer science;

    Sammanfattning : How does the brain transform the 2-D light arrays in our eyes into a meaningful 3-D description of surfaces around us? What assumptions does the visual system make about the world when information is incomplete? And how are these assumptions computationally expressed in this perceptual reconstruction process? These questions, and other aspects of binocular depth perception are analysed from a theoretical and computational perspective, as well as through empirical investigations. In paper one, the fundamentals of stereopsis are briefly reviewed, and the difficulties related with resolving the (stereo) correspondence problem are particularly discussed. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Combining analytical and iterative reconstruction in helical cone-beam CT

    Författare :Johan Sunnegårdh; Gösta Granlund; Per-Erik Danielsson; Michel Defrise; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; cone-beam tomography; forward projection; image reconstruction; iterative reconstruction; ordered subsets; regularization; WFBP; Signal processing; Signalbehandling;

    Sammanfattning : Contemporary algorithms employed for reconstruction of 3D volumes from helical cone beam projections are so called non-exact algorithms. This means that the reconstructed volumes contain artifacts irrespective of the detector resolution and number of projection angles employed in the process. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Dynamic response reconstruction using passive components

    Författare :Anders Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; substructuring; controllability; experimental methods; model calibration; passive control; response reconstruction; model updating; drive signal identification; Time Waveform Replication;

    Sammanfattning : In many testing applications within the field of structural dynamics, such as noise and vibration harshness, rattle and squeak, or durability testing in the automotive and truck industries, large hydraulic or electromagnetic actuators are used to excite the tested structure. Such actuators are mounted in the laboratory in a fixed configuration referred to here as a test rig. LÄS MER
