  1. 21. Web Applications for Large-Scale Decision Support : Preference Elicitation, Modeling and Visualization

    Författare :Samuel Bohman; Aron Larsson; Bo Sundgren; Majlender Peter; Göran Cars; Øystein Sæbø; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; World Wide Web; Decision Support Systems; Data Visualization; Man-Machine-Interaction MMI ; människa-maskin-interaktion MMI ;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis addresses the lack of effective and efficient technology design in current e-participation research by investigating two approaches that yet have not been explored to any great extent in the literature: decision science and data visualization. It is concerned with the problem of how to combine techniques from these two fields to achieve decision support in the context of e-participation; from preference elicitation and modeling to data analysis, visualization and final recommendations, such that it can provide value to practitioners. 2. 22. Learning from Multi-Objective Optimization of Production Systems : A method for analyzing solution sets from multi-objective optimization

    Författare :Catarina Dudas; Henrik Boström; Amos H.C. Ng; Johan Ölvander; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Data mining; Post-optimization analysis; Production system analysis; data- och systemvetenskap; Computer and Systems Sciences;

    Sammanfattning : The process of multi-objective optimization involves finding optimal solutions to several objective functions. However, these are typically in conflict with each other in many real-world problems, such as production system design. LÄS MER

  3. 23. Virtual Full Replication for Scalable Distributed Real-Time Databases

    Författare :Gunnar Mathiason; Sten F. Andler; Sang H. Son; Hans Hansson; Alejandro Buchmann; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Scalability; Flexibility; Adaptiveness; Database Replication; Resource Management; Distributed Database; Real-time Database; Computer science; Datalogi; Information technology; Informationsteknik; Teknik;

    Sammanfattning : A fully replicated distributed real-time database provides high availability and predictable access times, independent of user location, since all the data is available at each node. However, full replication requires that all updates are replicated to every node, resulting in exponential growth of bandwidth and processing demands with the number of nodes and objects added. 4. 24. Transport Analytics Based on Cellular Network Signalling Data

    Författare :David Gundlegård; Johan M. Karlsson; Tommy Svensson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Cellular networks of today generate a massive amount of signalling data. A large part of this signalling is generated to handle the mobility of subscribers and contains location information that can be used to fundamentally change our understanding of mobility patterns. 5. 25. Adaptive Concatenated Coding for Wireless Real-Time Communications

    Författare :Elisabeth Uhlemann; Högskolan i Halmstad; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Incremental redundancy hybrid ARQ; Multiple concatenated codes; Iterative decoding; Rate compatible punctured codes; Union bounds; EXIT charts; Convergence analysis; Wireless real-time communication; Quality of service; TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIKVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The objective of this thesis is to improve the performance of real-time communication overa wireless channel, by means of specifically tailored channel coding. The deadlinedependent coding (DDC) communication protocol presented here lets the timeliness and thereliability of the delivered information constitute quality of service (QoS) parametersrequested by the application.
