  1. 1. REACTIVE TRANSPORT MODELLING OF DISSOLVED CO2 IN POROUS MEDIA : Injection into and leakage from geological reservoirs

    Författare :Nawaz Ahmad; Anders Wörman; Auli Niemi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CO2 geological storage and safety; leakage of brine saturated with dissolved CO2; reactive transport; fracture; advection; dispersion and diffusion; sorption; carbonate minerals kinetic reactions; calcite; dolomite; siderite; porosity; permeability; heat transport; Land and Water Resources Engineering; Mark- och vattenteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The geological sequestration of carbon dioxide (CO2) is one of the options of controlling the greenhouse gas emissions. However, leakage of CO2 from the storage reservoir is a risk associated with geological sequestration. Over longer times, large-scale groundwater motion may cause leakage of dissolved CO2 (CO2aq). 2. 2. Effect of Hyporheic Exchange on Conservative and Reactive Solute Transport in Streams : Model Assessments Based on Tracer Tests

    Författare :Karin Jonsson; Anders Wörman; Bernhard H. Schmid; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; conservative; hyporheic exchange; model; reactive; retention; solute; sorption kinetics; stream transport; temporal moments; tracer experiment; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Sedimentology; sedimentologi;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding of the processes affecting solute transport in flowing water is important for the possibility to predict the evolution with time of polluted stream systems. This thesis presents tracer experiment methodology and model developments for solute transport in streams, with special focus on retention processes and their effect on solute stream transport. 3. 3. Recovery actions in freight transport through real-time disruption management

    Författare :Per Wide; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; freight transport; transport system; operational planning; proactive recovery actions; Disruption management; real-time information;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on the management of disruption in freight transport. The management of disruption is of importance to achieve planned efficiency in the transport system by mitigating or avoiding the impacts of disruptions, such as late arrivals of deliveries. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The Lagrangian Stochastic Advective-Reactive Approach to Modeling Solute Transport in Hydrological Systems

    Författare :Archana Gupta; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :solute transport; groundwater transport; unsaturated zone; stream hydrology; stream networks; stochastic processes; mass transfer kinetics; preferential flow; temporal moments; catchment hydrology; Lagrangian transport model;

    Sammanfattning : The Lagrangian stochastic advective-reactive modelingapproach has been used for analyzing transport of bothnonreactive and reactive solutes in different hydrologicalsystems (structured soil, groundwater, mining waste rockdeposits and surface waters including single stream and networkof streams) and at different spatio-temporal scales (rangingfrom laboratory column-scale to catchment-scale). Further, afirst step has been taken to extending the Lagrangianstochastic advective-reactive modeling methodology to integratethe soil-groundwater-stream transport through a catchment. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Modelling of reactive gas transport

    Författare :Erik Sundelöf; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : A rather general microscopic model for reactive gastransport in porous media is developed and applied to twodifferent processes in powder metal technology: carburization,and reduction of surface oxides.The carburization model is developed from the kinetic modelproposed by Grabke and applied to a 2-D porous geometryobtained from images.
