    Sammanfattning : Protein misfolding is a frequently occurring event in living cells and without the quality control, the consequences are disasterous. In this thesis, we studied protein misfolding in vitro by employing a variety of fluorophores, to either detect the highly ordered aggregates of intrinsically disordered proteins/peptides or slight misfolding of a natively folded protein.     Sammanfattning : Permafrost soils in the Arctic store large quantities of organic matter, roughly twice the amount of carbon that was present in the atmosphere before the industrial revolution. This freeze-locked carbon pool is susceptible to thawing caused by amplified global warming at high latitudes. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Amyloid protein aggregation results in major disturbances of cellular processes in humans. The most common amyloid-related disorders are Alzheimer´s disease and Parkinson´s disease. Parkinson´s disease is charaterized by the formation of protein-rich aggregates that are deposited in neurons, termed Lewy bodies and Lewy neurites. LÄS MER
