1. Transport and environment incentive policy instruments : effects and interactions
Sammanfattning : This dissertation studies issues related to the evaluation of the effects and interactions of transport and environmental incentive policy instruments. Essay 1: Green cars sterilize congestion charges: a model analysis of the reduced impact of Stockholm road tolls calibrates a modal-choice model with data from the Stockholm road toll and uses it to study the sensitivity of congestion toll effects to some seemly subtle changes in the toll system design and external circumstances. 2. Correlated random effects models for clustered survival data
Sammanfattning : Frailty models are frequently used to analyse clustered survival data in medical contexts. The frailties, or random effects, are used to model the association between individual survival times within clusters. LÄS MER
3. Contributions to Small Area Estimation : Using Random Effects Growth Curve Model
Sammanfattning : This dissertation considers Small Area Estimation with a main focus on estimation and prediction for repeated measures data. The demand of small area statistics is for both cross-sectional and repeated measures data. LÄS MER
4. Essays on random effects models and GARCH
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four essays, three in the field of random effects models and one in the field of GARCH. The first essay in this thesis, ''Maximum likelihood based inference in the two-way random effects model with serially correlated time effects'', considers maximum likelihood estimation and inference in the two-way random effects model with serial correlation. 5. Novel Statistical Methods in Quantitative Genetics : Modeling Genetic Variance for Quantitative Trait Loci Mapping and Genomic Evaluation
Sammanfattning : This thesis develops and evaluates statistical methods for different types of genetic analyses, including quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis, genome-wide association study (GWAS), and genomic evaluation. The main contribution of the thesis is to provide novel insights in modeling genetic variance, especially via random effects models. LÄS MER
