  1. 1. Liquid Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry Analysis of Short-lived Tracers in Biological Matrices : Exploration of Radiotracer Chemistry as an Analytical Tool

    Författare :Martin Lavén; Karin Markides; Bengt Långström; Rolf Ekman; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; liquid chromatography - mass spectrometry; radiotracer chemistry; positron emission tomography; biological samples; radionuclide imaging; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Liquid chromatography – mass spectrometry (LC-MS) methods were developed for the analysis of positron emission tomography (PET) radiotracers in biological matrices. Additionally, radiotracer chemistry was explored as an analytical tool for supporting LC-MS method development and imaging molecular interactions in miniaturised chemical analysis systems. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Synthesis of Organofluorine Compounds and Allenylboronic Acids - Applications Including Fluorine-18 Labelling

    Författare :Denise N. Meyer; Kálmán J. Szabó; Dominique Cahard; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; boron; allenylboronic acid; BINOL; homopropargyl alcohol; organocatalyst; organoboron; organofluorine; fluorine; fluorine-18; late-stage; labelling; labeling; nucleophilic; electrophilic; fluorination; positron emision tomography; PET; radiotracer; hypervalent iodine; benziodoxole; benzoxazepines; diaryliodonium salt; metal-free; neutrophil elastase; NE; neutrophil elastase inhibitor; trifluoromethylation; trifluoromethylthiolation; difluoro enol silyl ethers; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Sammanfattning : This work is focused on two areas: the chemistry of organofluorine and organoboron compounds. In the first chapter, a copper-catalysed synthesis of tri- and tetrasubstituted allenylboronic acids is presented. Extension of the same method leads to allenylboronic esters. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Design and Evaluation of Radiolabeled Affibody Tracers for Imaging of HER2-expressing Tumors

    Författare :Helena Wållberg; Stefan Ståhl; Dario Neri; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Affibody molecule; radionuclide molecular imaging; HER2; radiotracer; SPECT; PET; biodistribution; protein engineering; radiolabeling;

    Sammanfattning : The growing understanding of tumor biology and the identification of tumor specificgenetic and molecular alterations, such as the overexpression of human epidermal growthfactor receptor 2 (HER2), opens up for personalization of patient management using targeted therapies. However, this puts stringent demands on the diagnostic tools usedto identify patients that are likely to respond to a particular treatment. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Pre-Clinical Evaluation of a Novel Radiotracer for the Diagnosis of DVT and Pulmonary Embolism

    Författare :David Edwards; Håkan Ahlström; Stuart McCully; Hans Johnsson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Radiology; Radiologisk forskning;

    Sammanfattning : Deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) are different aspects of a single condition, venous thrombo-embolic disease (VTE), a major cause of morbidity and mortality in the western world. Rapid diagnosis is critical, as timely medical intervention can have a substantial beneficial effect on the mortality rate. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Migration of molecules in the brain : focus on the extracellular space and the cerebrospinal fluid

    Författare :Malin Höistad; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :Volume transmission; rat; diffusion; striatum; dual-probe microdialysis; delivery; recovery; clearance; uptake; dopamine; metabolism; radiotracer; mannitol; cisterna magna; opioids; peptides; betaendorphin; mu-opioid receptors; mismatch; TH; DBH; immunohistochemistry; fear.;

    Sammanfattning : Three different molecules and three different experimental models were used to study the migration of molecules in the rat brain: a neurotransmitter- dopamine, an extracellular market- mannitol, and a neuropeptide beta-endorphin. Two models in vivo were used to study the diffusion and migration of molecules: dual-probe rnicrodialysis in the striatum, and direct intrastriatal microinjections followed by cerebrospinal fluid sampling from the cisterna magna.
