  1. 1. Lumbar disc herniation. Clinical outcome and segmental stability using a new radiological classification and radiostereometry

    Författare :Klas Halldin; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :lumbar disc herniation; discectomy; radiostereometry; segmental stability; instability; surgical outcome; radiological classification;

    Sammanfattning : Satisfactory results following conventional lumbar discectomy have been reported in 70-90% of cases. Remaining or recurrent low back pain or sciatica is, however, seen in many patients for reasons not yet fully understood. A relationship has previously been shown between the morphologic characteristics, i.e. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Knee joint kinematics and the effects of arthropasty component design

    Författare :Tuuli Saari; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Total knee replacement; motion analysis; radiostereometry; migration; kinematics; radiolucent lines; clinical outcome;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: To evaluate the influence of medial osteoarthritis on knee joint kinematics and the effect of design in total knee replacements (TKR) on the kinematics of trunk, hip, knee and ankle. Associations between articulating surface design, clinical outcome and fixation of the tibial component were also evaluated. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Influence of postoperative treatment, surface treatment and stem design on the outcome of primary total hip arthroplasty

    Författare :Truike Thien; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Primary total hip arthroplasty; anteverted stem; stem design; cemented and cementless fixation; radiostereometry; bone mineral density; clinical outcome;

    Sammanfattning : Aims: The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of postoperative treatment, surface treatment and stem design on the outcome of primary Total Hip Arthroplasty. The main intention was to study anteverted femoral stems. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Hip revisions with impacted morselized allograft bone and cement. Patient outcome, prosthetic fixation and risks

    Författare :Ewald Ornstein; Lund Ortopedi; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; radiostereometry; NHP; patient outcome; cement; allograft; morselized; impacted; bone transplantation; hip; Arthroplasty; revision; complications; Surgery; orthopaedics; traumatology; Kirurgi; ortopedi; traumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : 144 consecutive hip revisions performed with morselized allograft bone and cement were followed up to 5 years after surgery. In 49 hips patient outcome was evaluated with the Nottingham Health Profile (NHP) questionnaire and Charnley hip scores in 47 hips prosthetic fixation was evaluated with radiostereometry (RSA)and in all 144 hips risks and complications were recorded using a prspective protocol. 5. 5. Wear and Fixation of the acetabular component : in vivo evaluation of different polyethylenes and modes of fixation in total hip arthroplasty

    Författare :Stephan Maximilian Röhrl; Kjell Gunnar Nilsson; Bo Nivbrant; Lars Nordsletten; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; total hip arthroplasty; acetabular component; wear; fixation; osteolysis; Radiostereometry; RSA; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; ortopedi; Orthopaedics;

    Sammanfattning : Polyethylene wear and micromotion of the implant play an important role in multifactorial etiology of osteolysis leading to aseptic loosening of the acetabular components. Despite excellent results in primary total hip arthoplasty in a 10-15 year perspective there are still unsolved problems. LÄS MER
